Little Buddies!

Happy New Year's Eve!

Are you staying home to avoid the madness outside tonight or are you someone who loves to be in the thick of the action?  As you probably guessed, I am the stay at home with a good book, some snacks & my feet up in the recliner! Brady, of course, will be sprawled on my lap as usual.  A good book, a purring cat & snacks!  What more could anyone want?  ha ha

I love this Sassy Cheryl's digi! They look so cozy and are obviously best of buddies.
The corners of this card were done with a Precious Marieke Snowflake Corner die.
I adore this die for winter cards!

See you tomorrow with another Sassy Cheryl digi and another of my favorite dies!

Friends!

Hi, gals!

Another card to give you inspiration for next year's cards.  I love this QKR Stampede digi of this happy snowman and his buddy!  Looks like both of them are ready for the cold with their cute hats & scarfs.  I added a couple of Cheery Lynn Holly Corners to him.

Back tomorrow with one of my favorite cards.

QKR Stampede Challenge - Snowman or Snowflakes

Happy Friday!

Where did the month go!  Hope all of you had a fabulous Christmas & that we will ALL have a much better New Year!

The QKR Stampede challenge for today is Snowman or Snowflakes (or anything goes).  I grabbed a digi that had both!  Digi # 14514 Birdhouse.  The snowflakes are Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes.

Looks like he already has a tenant for his little house! With the freezing cold weather, I'm sure all the birds are looking for a nice warm spot out of the wind and weather!

Hope you have a great New Year and be careful if you go out on New Year's eve!  I'm not a party gal so that night is usually spent curled up in the recliner with a book & snacks! Much safer and MUCH warmer!

Sherri

Merry Christmas!

Hi, friends!

Yes, Christmas is over, but I got this great new die that I just had to use!  It will go in the stash for next year.  The beautiful scene is a Tutti Designs Fir Trees Arch Scene & the Merry Christmas sentiment is a Cheery Lynn Design sentiment.  I use it a lot!

I decided glitter paper in red would be the best way to show it off! What a great card this makes! I'm sure I will use it a lot more on next year's cards!

Join me tomorrow for our weekly QKR Stampede challenge!

Let it Snow!

Hello, again!

As promised, here is the 2nd stamp from the set I mentioned yesterday.  I love this happy little snowman and just thought he had to go with this happy snowman paper! I miss making snowmen! I know....you are SUPPOSED to grow up!  Guess I never did!  So I've already decided if we get a deep enough snow this year I'm definitely sneaking out my back door to make one! I'm sure my cat Brady will watch me out the window & think I have completely lost my mind! ha ha

Have I talked anyone else into making a snowman?   If I make one, I'll take a picture of him and post it for you!  Promise!!

Happy Holidays!

Hi, friends!

When making cards for the season, I pulled out an old set of Stampin Up called Big on Christmas from 2007!  Yes, I've had it a long, long time & still pull it out for some quick cards.  I paired it with a couple of trees from Obsession Impression Fir Trees for a quick & easy card.  If you have any of these stamps, you can make some really easy cards with them.  I will be sharing the other 2 stamps in this set in the next couple of days.

I'll be back tomorrow with the "snow" stamp!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I hope the weather has been cooperating with any of you that are traveling or have family that are! This time of year, you never know what the weather surprises will be.

Obviously these two friends didn't let the weather stop them from getting together to exchange gifts!
So I'm hoping wherever you are you are surrounded by all those you love and enjoying everything that makes this holiday so special. This is a Penny Black stamp from a set called "Jolly Friends."

Merry Christmas to all of you who have given me such joy with your friendship & encouragement over these last few years! I have been so blessed!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Hi, gals!

I'm guessing everyone will be so busy today they won't have time to check out blogs.  I'm sure the same will be said for me too.  We always open our gifts Christmas eve night.  Do you do that too, or do you wait until Christmas morning?  In our family, everyone was always too excited to wait for morning!

I'm sure you already have your cards made & sent for this year, but you might like a few ideas for next year!

This is a Stamping Bella stamp that "jumped in my cart" on one of their Tuesday sale days.   The beautiful edge was one of three gorgeous dies in a Marianne Designs Petra's Christmas Border set. I buy all my dies from Dies R Us and if you sign up for their newsletter, you will be notified when they are having a "European Die" sale.  These are all dies they don't normally carry in the store, but get in several times a year for sale.

Hope your Christmas is everything you want it to be!
Merry Christmas from my house to yours!

Moose on the Loose!

Hi, gals!

Are you counting the hours until Christmas eve about now?  Me too!  I'm so glad I won't have a long drive ahead of me anymore since I'm now living in Lincoln.  Or worrying about them on the road trying to drive to me!

This is another QKR Stampede moose.  I love them all!  Don't know what there is about a moose that makes you smile!

The dies I used were Poppy Stamps Stitched Holly Border & Cheery Lynn Holly Corner.

I hope you are ready for Christmas eve tomorrow.  Do you open gifts Christmas eve or Christmas day?  We open Christmas eve & always have.  Probably because nobody can wait the extra day! ha ha

Hope your Christmas is wonderful no matter what day you celebrate!

QKR Stampede Challenge - Santa (or anything goes)

Hi, gals!

Only a couple of days left before the big day.  Hopefully, you have all your cards & shopping done & can relax & enjoy the holiday.  If you still need a last minute card, why not join our challenge for today & you could win some new stamps to play with once the holiday is over.

I grabbed digi # 8301 Checking It Twice for my card. The reindeer are Taylored Expressions On Dasher, On Dancer.

I see Santa is checking his list to be sure how many chimneys he will be sliding down! I hope you have been extra good this year so YOUR name is on his list!

Hello!

It's getting closer & closer isn't it?   I'm sure you are doing the same thing I am & trying to get last minute baking & gift buying done.

Apparently, even Santa follows the star! This is another of Sassy Cheryl's digi stamps!

The dies I used were Die-Versions Stitched Nesting Stars and Precious Marieke Snowflake Circle.

Out on a limb!

Happy Hump Day!

Are you busy frantically making your Christmas cards & wrapping last minute gifts?  I think we all are! This is one of my favorite Sassy Cheryl's digi stamps & one I used over & over again.

He certainly has gone out on a limb to visit his friends, hasn't he?

He was cut with a Marianne Designs Anja's Oval Die.

Oops!

Hello, again!

Can you think of anything funnier than snowmen making a snowball & rolling up one of their friends in the process?  This was a brilliant idea when Sassy Cheryl came up with it.  It always makes me smile!

Looks like it takes the entire family to push this huge ball.  Sure hope they have plans to get their buddy out at some point!

The oval was cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval Stackables die & the corners are Precious Marieke Snowflake Corner dies.

This is another Stamping Bella stamp and one I loved at first sight! I actually colored her up in both reds and pinks because she was just SO much fun to color.  Can't wait to color her up again!

This one I colored in pinks! Can't decide which of them I like the best!

This happy little trio is just dancing up a storm!  No doubt, because Christmas is so close & they are expecting something wonderful.  The oval was cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval Stavckables die.

Or maybe they are just happy that it is snowing!  Who can tell for sure?  ha ha

See you tomorrow with a fun Christmas card that will surely make you smile!

Did you really mean to land on my nose?

Happy Sunday, gals!

I don't know what your weather is like but I am really crossing my fingers that it is not below zero and a blizzard here today.  It's my turn to be church greeter and standing outside holding the door open is fun in the summer & fall, but not so much in the winter!

Today's card is a Sassy Cheryl digi. The beautiful frame was done with a Memory Box Dancing Snowflake Frame.

I love her snowmen! And this has always been a favorite! I'll be back tomorrow with another of her images but this time it is penquins!

Leaf Vignette

Hi, friends!

Time for another sympathy card.  This one is made with a Frantic Stamper Leaf Vignette Squares die.

I love this die.  It would make a beautiful thank you card too.  And with a change of papers you can completely change the entire look of the card.

Have a great weekend!

Dies R Us Challenge - White on White

Hello, everyone!

Are you ready for a fabulous challenge from Dies R Us today?  The theme for today's challenge is "White on White" and I LOVE white on white cards!!  They always look elegant! You don't have to do a Christmas card, but it has to be white on white.

I went with a couple of my favorite dies.  Die-Versions Carolers & Marianne Design Anja's Frilly Square.  If you follow our store, you know that from time to time we offer fabulous European dies at marvelous prices!  But you have to be signed up for our newsletter to be sure you get notified.  The Marianne die I used today was from one of those sales & I can't tell you how many times I have used it!  It's a favorite "go-to" die that both cuts AND embosses!  Those are my favorite dies!

I used pop dots to give the carolers a better chance to show up.  Can't you see now why I love that Marianne die so much?  It's gorgeous!  Be sure you get signed up for the newsletter as we offer these European dies all the time!

You can find the Challenge Blog here! And be sure you visit the daily Inspiration Blog as well. They have fabulous designers that will give you wonderful ideas sure to get your creative juices started!

If your entry wins, you will get a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store! (AKA my favorite place in the world to shop!)

Good luck!  And be sure to scroll down to see my second blog entry for today.  Since the 15th has fallen on a Friday, there will also be a blog for QKR Stampede's challenge.

The frame was cut with a Memory Box Scattered Snowflake Frame & the additional snowflake is a Wild Rose Studio Lacy Snowflake.

From the 2 of us!

Happy Hump Day!

I'm still working on Christmas cards, obviously.  I bet you are too unless you are one of those smart gals who begins working on them in the summer so you are all done well before things get hectic.  I promise myself I will do that every year & somehow I just can't get into the holiday mood when it is hot outside & you have the air on!

This is another Stamping Bella image.  I can't resist polar bears! And throw in a cute mouse ....I was hooked!

I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas card.

QKR Stampede Challenge-Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Happy Friday, friends!

Of course, that means it's time for the weekly QKR Stampede weekly challenge & today's theme is Non-Traditional Christmas Colors (or anything goes).  I decided on Digi # 9411 Decorations for my card. The dies were Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders, Cheery Lynn Holly Corner & Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas Set.

I love this image! It looks like the ornament is almost bigger than he is! But that doesn't stop him from getting in the Christmas spirit at all! Look at the hat & ornament he has tied to his tail!

Grab your favorite stamps and see what you can come up with.

Another Plum Purdy image!

Hi, gals!

As I promised yesterday, I'm back today with another Plum Purdy snowman.....well, I guess technically this is a snow "lady".....

Isn't she the cutest?  I wonder if the bird is looking for a new house and spotted the birdhouse in her apron?  The gorgeous die behind her is Precious Marieke Snowflake Circle.

I'll see you tomorrow with a trio of cute critters!

More snowmen!

Hello, everyone!

Are you having a relaxing Sunday or are you busy catching up all the things you didn't get to last week?  I'm back with another snowman today.....surprise!  ha ha

This darling little guy is a Plum Purdy stamp.  Unfortunately, they no longer carry the stamps as they are primarily a tole painting site.  As a former tole painter, I was always in love with her images & when I got into card making, she was still selling a few stamps.  Tomorrow I will share the snow "lady" stamp that goes with this one.  I have 4 of her stamps and they came with me when I moved.  I will never part with them as they have always been favorites!

The beautiful die bnehind him is a Marianne Designs Anja's Oval Die.

Reach for the stars!

Hi, gals!

Can you believe it is December already?  I hope you are all working on your Christmas cards! I know I certainly am!

This is another Sassy Cheryl digi and another of my favorites!  (Ok, I confess, ALL of her snowmen are my favorites!)  I can't help it, I have a real thing for snowmen!  They bring back a lot of happy memories of making snowmen as a child and again when my daughter was little & we would make them together! We didn't have enough snow to make one last year, but if we have more this year, I may just sneak out to my backyard & make one!

The dies I used on this were Precious Marieke Snowflake Corner & Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval Stackables.

See you again tomorrow with another snowman card.

A Snowman "Selfie"

Hi, friends!

Are you ready for a smile?  This cute Sassy Cheryl digi just made me laugh out loud the minute I first saw it & I immediately ordered it!  I love the look on their faces as they line up for that perfect shot! I used a Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Oval Stackables die on this one.

Are you someone who takes a lot of selfies, or are you like me and you NEVER take them?  I don't take a good picture so taking my own is just out of the question.  ha ha  I'm hoping this funny card will bring a chuckle to whoever gets it.  Holidays sometimes become a time of stress and this might just take some of the stress away for a few minutes.

I'll see you tomorrow with a double post.  It's QKR Stampede's Friday challenge and also the first of the month so time for Dies R Us again as well.

"Snowmany" Thanks!

Happy Hump Day!

We all need thank you notes for our Christmas gifts and I like to get a head start on mine.  And this happy little guy is the perfect image!

This is a Sassy Cheryl's digi and another image I use every year.  Am I the only one who has favorites & ALWAYS pulls them out for each holiday?  To me they are like your favorite sweater or jeans....you always pull them out first!  I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Square Stackable to mat him.

Another snowman card tomorrow & another of my favorites!

Noel

Hi, everyone!

Whenever I think of "Noel" I can't help but remember something that happened years & years ago .  It's a memory I will never forget & it makes me smile every time I think of it. My daughter was in grade school and just learning to read and & we were all helping put up the Christmas decorations.  I had an old ceramic set that spelled Noel and I gave it to her to put in the window sill and went back to decorating the tree.  At one point, I went into the kitchen & looked up at the window to see that she had spelled "Lone" and just about fell over laughing.  She said it was the only word she could think of!  We still laugh about it to this day!

I'm so glad I didn't give this old set away.  It brought back another really happy memory!

Scroll down for the second post for today.

Believe in Magic!

Hello, again!

The Christmas season is always a time to believe in magic, isn't it?  This is an old, old stamp I've had for years from Rubber Stampede.  I end up using it every year just because I love it so much. This is a Rubber Stampede stamp and the dies I used were Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers and Memory Box Stitched Holly Leaves.

Don't you love the smile on his face?  It always makes me smile too.

See you tomorrow with another fun snowman.

Sherri

Who needs Santa?

Happy Monday!

Are you thinking about Christmas cards or busy decorating your house?  I know a lot of us put the tree up after Thanksgiving so we have more time to enjoy it.  I'm guilty of that! Christmas is my favorite holiday & I never get over the magic of it.

I'm not sure if they have stolen Santa's sleigh or just made one of their own, but it looks like they are off to deliver presents!  Right down to the "Rudolph" nose on the head mouse!  You have to love their enthusiasm don't you?  This was another stamp from the Penny Black "Jolly Follies" set & I cut it out with the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers die.

Another Christmas card tomorrow & one of my favorite images.

Sherri

Getting a better view!

Hello, gals!

I have a really fun Christmas card today!  I LOVE critters on just about anything.  There is always something so happy about them & this little mouse looks like he is having the time of his life!

It sure looks like he is ready for Christmas & even has his candy cane ! From the size of it, I'd say it will take him a little bit of time to finish it off! This was a Penny Black stamp set called Jolly Follies and the matting was cut with Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles.

I'll see you tomorrow with more cute mice!

Butterflies!

Hello, friends!

I REALLY love butterflies....in any form!  And living here in Lincoln I have seen more butterflies the past few weeks than ever before in my life.  Apparently, we are on the migration path and they visit us by the hundreds!  The dies I used for this beautiful card were Poppy Stamps Elsa Butterfly Branch and Joy Crafts Butterfly Oval.

The first card is a birthday card and I love the way the die embossed the butterflies and they can come off the card & look like they are flying!

QKR Stampede Challenge-Anything Goes!

Hello, friends!

It's Friday again & time for another QKR Stampede Challenge.  The theme this week is "Anything Goes" which leaves you wide open to choose anything your heart desires!  This theme is always a favorte! And since I needed more guy birthday cards, I chose digi # 20205-Old Car for my card. I used Lawn Fawn Large & Small Stitched Oval Stackables & Memory Box Gearworks Border. The sentiment is an old one that only says RIV1322G You're a classic on the side.

I know you probably don't think of QKR Stampede for images like this one, but you would be surprised at some of the cool things they have.  If you haven't shopped there before, you need to check it out.

Doesn't this just make the perfect guy card?  Old car, gears and plaid paper! That about says it all.

Get out your favorite stamps and see what you can make!

Sherri

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I hope you are all ready for a day of overeating and spending time with those you love.  I plan to do both!  I will go to my daughter's for dinner and am taking a recipe I found on Facebook, of all places. Both she & my grandson, Josh ADORE pumpkin anything so this sounded like the perfect desert.  I just finished making it & sampled all the layers, of course.  It's unbelievable!!  I will include it here for anyone who loves pumpkin.

PUMPKIN LASAGNA

INGREDIENTS:

2 rows of Golden Oreos + 2 rows of Pumpkin Oreos (or crushed gingersnaps)
8 TB unsalted butter, melted
1 8 oz PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese (softened)
1/2 cup butter
 1 cup powdered sugar
1 large container cool whip (16 oz) divided
2- 3.4 oz. packages of pumpkin instant pudding
3 cups milk
white chocolate bar (to make curls)

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Begin by crushing your Oreos. For a very fine mixture, place in your food processor. Place in a ziploc baggie & add melted butter. Mix until it is well coated.
2.  Press into the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan spreading out to cover the entire bottom of the pan.
3. In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and 1/2 of the cool whip. Blend well & pour over your Oreo crust.
4. In another bowl, make your pudding by adding your milk to the bowl & instant pudding. Whisk together until pudding thickens. Pour over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 5 minutes.
5. Top off with  the rest of your cool whip.  Add white chocolate shavings.
6. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.  ENJOY!

I discovered that Target is the only place I found the pumpkin oreos & they only carry them around Halloween.  You may have to use gingersnaps if you can't find them.

When I count my blessings, I count all the wonderful friends I have met over the years because of this blog.  You are the most wonderful, caring people in the world & I treasure each & every one of you!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

With Sympathy

Hello, friends!

A final "bird" card and then I'm off to butterflies!  Ha ha  I seem to have a thing right now for flying critters! The dies I used were Joy Crafts Vintage Flourishes Birds and Precious Marieke Winter Wonderland.

I love the oval on this card & it really sets off the birds.  I don't know about you, but I am THRILLED to be getting away from bird cards tomorrow!  As much as I love them, I'm tired of looking at them. Tomorrow is our QKR Stampede weekly challenge!

With Sympathy

Happy Hump Day!

Hope your week is going well!  To continue with the bird theme I have had going for several days, I have a beautiful and simple sympathy card to share today.  The oval is a Spellbinders Elegant Oval die and the bird is an Impression Obsession Bird on Branch die.

This is another of my favorite dies I don't use nearly enough.  I love it for a sympathy card!

I'll be back tomorrow with the final "Bird" themed card......I'm cheering too!

Birthday Wishes!

Hello, friends!

Another bird inspired die from my stash.  I had forgotten how many I actually had so it's a good thing I was looking for a bird several days ago.  Lol!

This die really makes a pretty birthday card all by itself. This bird die is a Tutti Designs Bird Branch Chorus & the scallop behind it is from a Lifestyles Nesting Scallop Circle die.

I went with a square card on this one because of the size of the die.  I'll be back tomorrow with a beautiful sympathy card (also with a bird theme).

Sherri

Birdhouse Birthday!

Happy Monday!

I hope your week is off to a great start!  Do you have your turkey yet?  Hopefully, he is thawing out in your refrigerator!

As I mentioned yesterday, I found some great dies I had forgotten all about and here is another one. This is Tutti Designs Birdhouse Garden.

I adore this die & will certainly remember to pull it out more often as it makes a gorgeous birthday card!  And I love the shade of green I found to go under it.

I'll see you tomorrow with another bird themed card.

Sherri

Pink Birthdays!

Hello, everyone!

I have so many dies I sometimes forget to pull them out & use them.  I happened to be looking for a bird die the other day & came across this beauty. It is a Tutti Design Bird Tapestry die. It makes a beautiful card all by itself, but I added some flower corners from an old punch and perked it up even further.

I love this die and it makes a gorgeous card all by itself.  I'll be back tomorrow with another bird themed card I also "discovered" while looking through my dies.

With Sympathy

Howdy!

I have a lot of embossing folders and even have this one that also cuts out some areas.  I forget to use them a lot but came across this one the other day & dragged it out. Unfortunately, wherever I found it, I have lost it again so can't tell you the exact name.  The die, however, is Elizabeth Craft "With Sympathy" and I will look further for the embossing folder.

What a pretty card it made.  I'll have to grab it more often!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

QKR Stampede Challenge - Give Thanks

Hello, again!

Since Thanksgiving is next week, it's a good time to remember all our blessings and to give thanks for them.  The QKR Stampede challenge theme for today is "Give Thanks" and I'm sure you have lots of ideas for a card to do just that.  I chose digi # 14515 - Hunting Turkey.  I'm guessing he may be thankful he has a musket on his shoulder which should prevent him from becoming Thanksgiving dinner!  The die is a Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders.

I've always loved this cute turkey and he makes a perfect Thanksgiving card.  Pull out your favorite stamps & see what you can come up with!   What are YOU thankful for?  I'm thankful for my family, first of all.  And all of the many, many blessings I have been given.  God has been VERY good to me, and I thank Him every single day!

Hugs,
Sherri
