When there are no words.....

Hello, gals!

Can you believe tomorrow is July already?  I've spent most of this month working on cards for my "stash" and today's card is a sympathy card.  I think the die I used is beautiful enough all by itself, don't you?  This die is Sue Wilson's Noble Collection-Ornate Pierced Design.  I love the embossing on it!

I made this as a shaped card which I really loved too!  Something about a card that is not a normal rectangle or square that just makes it prettier.

I'll see you tomorrow with the QKR Stampede weekly challenge!  Stay tuned!

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day!

Your week is half over & the month is nearly gone.  We wait so patiently for summer to get here
& then it seems like it just flies by at the speed of light!

Today's card is a Bugaboo image I colored up for the 2nd border edge I mentioned in yesterday's post.  This edge is actually what made me hit "add to cart" the minute I saw it.  Something about this crazy edge with all the stitching just jumped right out at me.

I have always loved stitching on cards but my sewing machine just won't do it so this is the next best thing!

Catch you tomorrow with another gorgeous die.

Beautiful edging!I

Hello, friends!

I've been in a flower mood lately & have pulled out some of my favorite flower stamps again.  I can only go so long without coloring...No doubt something left over from my childhood!  I've always loved to color!  Do you remember the big boxes of crayons they would have around Christmas?  The ones with 60 colors AND a crayola sharpener?  Those were my absolute favorite things to receive as a gift!  I can still smell them now just thinking about it!  My favorite color out of the entire box was Prussian Blue!  They didn't have that one in the smaller boxes & it was the most beautiful blue ever made as far as I was concerned.  ha ha  Ah, such memories!  Kids now days probably don't get excited over a box of crayons....only a new laptop or Iphone.  How much they are missing!!

Well, enough of memory lane....I colored this flower image up just so I could use one of my new dies., Penny Black Border Edges.  There are 2 dies in this set & I actually bought it for the other die (which I will share tomorrow) but I'm pretty happy with this one too!

It makes a really pretty, old fashioned edge, doesn't it?   I added Wink of Stella to everything and some added yellow Stickles for the flower centers.    If you haven't colored in awhile, grab your pencils, your markers, your paints or whatever your favorite medium is & spend an afternoon just having fun!

Back tomorrow!

Love this die!

Hello, again!

I'm back today with one of my new favorite dies.  (I can hear the laughing from here, ladies!) I know they are ALL my favorites and I say that a lot.  But this one just adds such a lacy, gorgeous edge I grab it a lot.  I probably shouldn't share this story with you, but it made me laugh. My friend Gail was over the other day & she noticed a stack of the clear plastic envelopes (complete with address label names) that I store my dies in sitting on my desk. When she asked about them, I had to "fess" up that they were waiting for some new dies I had ordered.  She started laughing in disbelief. She said my dies are just like my children & she couldn't believe I already had their little "homes" waiting for them before they even got here.  ha ha Yup!  The minute I order any dies, as soon as the order confirmation comes across I make the address label for the clear plastic envelope & get it ready. That way once the mailman leaves, I head upstairs, put them in their little "homes" and add them to my inventory list.  It's a ritual!  Do you think I need professional help?  ha ha

This is a Tutti Butterfly Strip die.  And it makes a beautiful edge whether you are doing a landscape card or a portrait view.  What do you think?

What a quick birthday card this makes....and a beautiful one too!

And for a sympathy card, it works just as well.  The butterfly edge is just gorgeous isn't it?

So now do you see why this is one of my new favorites?

Catch you later!

A Shaker card for your birthday!

Hi, gals!

Have you ever tried making cards when you were tired or when you were not thinking about what you were doing?  You know what happens then, don't you?  One mistake after another...and another!!  Well, that was THIS card!   I started out with Memory Box Waltzing Butterflies...one of my favorite butterfly dies.  I have only made a shaker card 3 times before....this is actually my fourth shaker card. I knew what to do, but for some reason I was not paying attention to the card.  Apparently, I was too busy watching television.   I had the front panel done & like an idiot, didn't stamp the "Enjoy your Birthday" on it BEFORE I filled it.   You are ahead of me aren't you?  ha ha  Yup! Stamped it on the front & smeared the ink!  Ok, I could fix that with a circle glued on top....no problem......

Grabbed my double sided tape & put a line of it down on the FRONT of my card instead of the back!!  Tried to pull it off & it tore the paper.  Option # 2....grab some ribbon & hide the "boo boo"...which explains why there is ribbon on this card.  ha ha  For a card that started out as such a disaster, it still looks ok!

Have YOU ever had a card that was disaster after disaster but you still saved? I'd love to hear your stories!

Back tomorrow with a great Tutti die!  See you then!

The dreaded sympathy cards...

Hi, again!

Of all the cards we dread to make, I think sympathy cards are probably near the top.  Not because they are so hard to create, but because it means someone close to you has lost a loved one.  We all have our favorite styles, but I seem to gravitate towards lacy & beautiful.  I pulled out a few favorite dies for these two.

The lacy edge around the oval is an Ellentina Lacy Oval and the beautiful center is Poppy Stamps Elsa Butterfly Branch.

For this one I used the Ellentina Lacy Oval and Memory Box Fluttering Corner.

Back tomorrow with a shaker card!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 197 - Paper Piecing

Hello, again!

Another Friday already & of course, that means it is time for another QKR Stampede weekly challenge! This week's theme is "Paper Piecing" and if you haven't tried this yet, you are missing a lot of fun! I have always loved paper piecing!  Love the different patterns you can add to your image and should I admit it?  Yes, I love the fussy cutting!  I find it relaxing.  ha ha   For my card this week, I used digi# 11504 - Sick Mouse.

How cute is this little critter?  I'm hoping he is cute enough to bring a smile to someone who is under the weather!

Head on over to the QKR Stampede Blog & join us!  You could win some fabulous digi stamps if you are the winner this week!

Have a great weekend!

Sally Loves the Water!

Hello, friends!

Thursday already!  Where did the week go?  I've been busy working on cards & decided to share two of them today since they both share the same theme....water!  Both are images from Sassy Cheryl (my favorite digi's).  I've had the inner tube image for a long time & colored it up many times but the umbrella image is new.  I was actually lucky enough to win it!!!  If you like Sassy Cheryl's digi's, you are probably familiar with Sassy Cheryl's Neighborhood on FaceBook.  I happened to notice one day that she was giving away a free image of your choice to one lucky gal if you would comment on which of her images was your favorite.  Which is like asking a chocoholic which chocolate in the box is their favorite! You love them all!  I did decide on the snowmen selfie though.  If you have never seen it, head to her website to check it out.  Three darling snowmen taking a "selfie" .....nothing cuter.

Back to business!  Here are today's "water" themed cards!

Couldn't help it....the gingham was just sitting there tempting me to grab it.  ha ha

Tried a new technique with my sky on this one.  I cut some scallops along a scrap piece and used my marker to create the clouds.  Which worked great for the first half of the card until my template became soaked from the marker & started to bleed into my sky.  Not to give up on my great invention, I grabbed a piece of acetate and glued my template onto it, trimming the acetate to follow the template.  Now when I lay it down, there is no more bleed thru!  The plastic stops it! Problem solved!

Back tomorrow with our QKR Stampede weekly challenge!

Got to love "old putters!"

Happy Hump Day!

I decided to share a smile with you today.  I love this QKR Stampede image of the old golfer and golfers seem to make popular guy cards so I colored him up the other day & created a little golf scene.

I enjoy fussy cutting (I know...I'm weird) so I cut him out and added him to this little golf course.  Hope he remembered to set the brake on his golf cart! Lol

Back to the drawing board to see what I can come up with!

Pink Peonies!

Hello, again!

Back with my last flower card for awhile.  This was my least favorite of those I made, so I'm sharing it last.  ha ha

I got a little heavy handed with the stickles on this one, but it really screamed for something! There just wasn't much about it that I liked.  Sometimes you make a card that just doesn't appeal to you & that was the case with this one.  They can't all be winners, right? ha ha

I have a fun card for you tomorrow!  Stay tuned!

A jar full of flowers

Happy Monday!

Ready to begin another week?  I certainly am.  They are promising a cooler week for us this week. YEAAAA!!!  I'm tired of temps nearly 100 with high humidity which just drains you!

As promised yesterday,  I have some flower cards to share today.  It's amazing what a difference the die you cut them with can make.  These are the same stamp but totally different looks because of the dies.   I used Wink of Stella on them & also added some Stickles for even more glitter.  (You can never have too much glitter!)

See what a difference a change of background color and die can make!

One more flower card to share tomorrow!  Stay tuned!

Polka Dot Get Well Wishes!

Hi, everyone!

And Happy Father's Day to all the fathers!  This is my first Father's Day without my dad & it seems strange not having to make a card or try to pick out that perfect Father's Day gift.  For those of you still lucky enough to have your fathers, cherish every minute you have with them!

Today I have another Sassy Cheryl cutie!  I loved the image & thought it would be a cute get well card.  The inside sentiment says "Feeling yucky? Hope you're soon feeling....Just Ducky!"
I love the polka dots!  (My 2nd favorite paper! ha ha)

I'll be back tomorrow with a flower card.  I haven't used my flower stamps as often lately so I pulled them out the other day & made several cards.

See you tomorrow,
Sherri

Dream.....

Happy Weekend!

Are you ready to enjoy some of your dreams this weekend?  What is it that YOU are dreaming of?  A fun time meeting with friends,  a concert,  a movie, a chance to work in the yard.....or just time to sit in the shade with a good book & cool drink?  Today's card is another Sassy Cheryl image.  I thought it would be perfect for a note card to send friends.  And since I just happened to have a couple of scraps of red gingham left, I had to pull it out!

I think I need some more editing help.  For some reason, my "cheeks" always look really red when in reality, they are not even close to that.  Next time my grandson comes up, he will have to give me some pointers!  Since he built me a new computer it edits things a bit differently & I haven't gotten through the learning curve yet!

Enjoy your weekend!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 196 - Quilting/Stitching - Real or Faux

Happy Friday, everyone!

Another week almost gone!  Are you ready to party or just too pooped to do anything but relax?  If you are in a relaxing mood, you might want to think of joining in the current QKR Stampede challenge.  The theme this week is "Quilting/Stitching - Real or Faux" which leaves it pretty much open to your imagination as to what you want to create!  Those are always the most fun challenges!  I grabbed a really cute image (digi # 18511 - Happy Pelican) and combined it with some of my favorite dies.  Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Square Stackables, Poppy Stamps Anchors Away, Cheery Lynn Lighthouses, Impression Obsession Beach Fence, Impression Obession Single Beach Chair & Memory Box Stitched Clouds.  I also added a Memory Box Swimming Seahorses die to the inside.

This guy certainly looks like he has had more than just the fish he is currently inhaling!  From the size of his pouch, I'd say he has a healthy appetite!

Hop on over to the QKR Stampede Blog and enter a card! You could be the lucky winner this week!

Catch you later!

Butterfly wishes!

Hi, gals!

A change of pace for today...polka dots!  The cute image is from Bugaboo and the butterflies are from Tutti.  I actually cut off most of the die & used just the butterfly portion.   My friend Leslie had done this earlier & I was all ready to add her "new" die to my stash when she told me I already had it!  ha ha  Which goes to show you what amazing things you can make with a few snips to your dies!

Back tomorrow with the QKR Stampede weekly challenge and tune in again on Saturday for another "scrap" card!

Dies R Us Challenge - Butterflies

Happy Hump Day!

Are you ready for a challenge?  As you know, Dies R Us has 2 challenges each month.  They begin on the first and the 15th and you stand a chance of winning a fabulous gift card to their amazing store if you are the lucky winner!  The challenge today is to use butterflies on your card!  How simple is that!  We all have favorite butterfly dies that we can pull out and add to a card.  Or you can do like I did & make your entire card from butterflies!  I pulled out a new favorite and an old one for my card today.  Tutti Butterfly Corner is my new favorite and Memory Box Waltzing Butterflies is my old favorite.  Combining them just seemed the right thing to do.

I adore lacy cards & both of these dies fit into that category.  Don't they make a really feminine card?

Put your thinking cap on & come up with an entry of your own!  Good luck!! You can find the challenge here!

Thank You!

Hi, friends!

If you are looking for a beautiful corner die, this Simon Says Maple Leaf Corner die is a must have. I bought it for all my fall cards, but decided it would also be fantastic all by itself for a quick thank you! The 3 larger leaves actually cut out separately so you could do them in different colors for a whole other look.  It's hard to see here, but there is also stitching on the larger leaves.

Doesn't this make a fantastic (and quick) card?

Back tomorrow with the Dies R Us Challenge & again on Thursday with a polka dot card!  See you then!

Golfing again!

Happy Monday!

I have another fun golf card today.  You can never have enough "guy" cards in your stash!  This image is another from Just Inklined.  They had a bargain CD with images a couple of years ago & it had a lot of great images on it.

Can you believe it?  NO gingham!  ha ha  I'll be back tomorrow with a cute & quick thank you with a great die.

Hope your week will be a great one!

A Birthday Touchdown!

Hello again!

Hope your weekend is going smoothly & you are getting some much needed "fun" time!  We all need that, don't we!  This cute Sassy Cheryl digi is certainly enjoying HIS down time!

I warned you yesterday that I was grabbing gingham scraps...even scraps make a cute card!

Tomorrow I am taking a gingham break!  I actually have a guy card with NO gingham!  ha ha

Catch you tomorrow!

Happy Birthday to an Old Putter!

Hi, friends!

Ok, I should apologize right off the bat!  I have enough paper packs to stock Hobby Lobby & while I should be using them, everything I grabbed just didn't seem as perfect as gingham.....so, here we are again...another gingham card.  ha ha  I'm blaming it on the wild Hawaiian shirt!  Everything just seemed to clash with it!  That's my story & I'm sticking to it!  The image is from Just Inklined.

Golf themed cards seem to always be a hit!  I found this cute sentiment at Rubbernecker Stamps. Perfect for a golf card!

I'll be back tomorrow with a cute kid's card...prepare yourself!  It has leftover scraps of gingham as background!  Lol!  (I NEVER throw away my gingham scraps!)

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Friday!

Are you ready for a fun & relaxing weekend?  Could that also include some time for crafting?  If so, you need to check out the QKR Stampede challenge which starts today! The theme is "For the Guys!" and we all know how we hate to make guy cards!  There are sure to be some fantastic ideas from the design team and a lot of amazing ideas from the entrants too!  My card was made with digi# 24128 - Appaloosa Foal.

If you haven't visited the QKR Stampede store, you are probably surprised to see an image like this.  There are all kinds of different (and fantastic) images there!

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Poppy Edge

Hi, everyone!

If you have not seen the new Tutti Design dies at Dies R Us, you need to stop in & check them out! I am absolutely in love with all of them.  But since I am REALLY trying to be good, I am pacing myself and not just ordering them all like I really want to.  I had to have the Poppy Edge die though.  It's gorgeous all by itself or combined with other dies or even duplicated on the same card.  I started out with a sympathy card using 2 of the dies and then kind of got carried away.  I ended up making 4 cards the first day I had the die.  I'll show you 2 of them so you get an idea just how gorgeous this die is.

This die is so gorgeous that you don't need a single thing with it. Two corners combined on a single card & a sentiment & you are done!  I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head for this die so don't be surprised if you see it again.

Even alone, it makes a beautiful card!

Back tomorrow with our weekly QKR Stampede challenge!  See you then!

Have a "Dino-mite" birthday!

Happy Hump Day, gals!

Your week is half over & hopefully, it has been a great one so far! If you aren't already sick of gingham, this one may put you over the edge!  But I promise tomorrow's card will NOT be gingham!

Another Bugaboo cutie-pie!  And another card for my kid's stash!

I'm hoping the bright primary colors & the dragon will be a hit with kids, especially smaller ones!
Since it is hard to tell whether or not this is a boy or a girl, I decided to just make it a girl & give her red toenails!

Stop by tomorrow for something that has NO gingham on it!!  Promise, cross my heart!

Thank you "sew" much!

Happy Tuesday!

As promised, I'm back with another gingham card.  This little guy is from Sassy Cheryl & I found the perfect font to go with it.  It's probably hard to tell in the photo, but the font is actually tiny sewing stitches.

We can all use thank you cards from time to time & this image just hit the spot for me!

I'll be back tomorrow with the last (for now) gingham card I created and then I'll share a really gorgeous die with you.    But fear not, I'm sure gingham will be sneaking in on the upcoming cards!  I don't know how many people (besides me) actually have an entire drawer devoted to just gingham paper.....and it's full!  But I have to confess, I also have one devoted to only polka dot paper....my second favorite!  Should I be seeking out the services of a mental health professional?  ha ha

Back tomorrow,

Happy Birthday to "Moo"

Happy Monday, everyone!

Are you ready for the start of a great week?  Me too!  It looks like we are finally out of that rainy pattern we were stuck in & there is only sunshine expected this week!  Hurray!!!!  I am SO tired of rainy, gloomy days!

If you need a bit of cheer to start you week, I have just the perfect thing!  What is cuter than a cow celebrating a birthday?  And to make it even more special.....(drum roll, please!)....GINGHAM paper!
Yup!  My friend Gail surprised me with a pack of gingham paper yesterday!  She knows there is nothing to get me more excited than gingham paper!  (Well, maybe a new die.....or chocolate) And for some reason, it is really hard to find in paper packs, which is how I prefer to buy my paper.

A bit of Wink of Stella, some gingham paper & a darling image from Bugaboo and your card is done!
This will go in my stash of kid's cards!

I'll be back tomorrow with another gingham cutie!  Afterall, if you have a whole pad of gingham paper, you just HAVE to use it, right?   Prepare yourselves for lots of gingham ! ha ha

See you tomorrow!

A Sunday card for a change!  I've been on a roll making cards & am trying to share them all.  Another Sassy Cheryl image, of course!  LOVE her critters!  I'm not sure what Bella has done to deserve the thanks of this cute cat, but they both seem to be enjoying it!

Have a great week, everyone!  I'll check in with you later!

Having a bad day?

Hello, again!

We all have "those days" when things just go wrong.  Sometimes it seems like we have more of those days than days when things go well!  I decided this Sassy Cheryl digi would be a cute get well card!

Today would be a great day for this pair to fly their kite here!  It's really windy!

I smell cake!

Hi, everyone!

Can you believe it is June already?  We were so sick of winter & now June is here much too soon!  Wasn't it just April a couple days ago?

As promised, I have another Sassy Cheryl cutie for today.  Looks like Sally & her little buddy are having a difference of opinions as to where the party is!  If cake is involved, I could find it faster than a bloodhound!  Especially if it is chocolate!!!

I didn't get my photo editing done as well as I wanted on her, but hopefully, you can tell what she looks like!

Back tomorrow with another birthday card!

See you then!
