Kick up your heels & dance!

Happy Wednesday!!

The month is almost over and spring is just around the corner!  If that doesn't make you want to kick up your heels & dance, then maybe this darling dog from Sassy Cheryl's digi stamps will do it!  Just like I knew the minute I saw the digi that it was going into my cart, it was the same thing with the Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Melody die!  Into my cart the minute I saw it! I'm afraid I got a little carried away....ha ha I've already done 4 different birthday cards with this puppy and this die & am still going strong!  I will show you what I mean & list the additional dies I used on each card.  I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Square Stackables die on these first 2 cards (in addition to the Happy  Birthday Melody).

For this happy little critter, I chose the Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders die to cut it out.

And last, but not least, I used the Lawn Fawn Small  Stitched Oval Stackables for this one.

By changing the die you cut your image out with, you can change the whole look of a card.  The same is true for the paper you choose for your background!  Use your imagination & see what you can come up with!

Don't forget a new challenge begins on the first of the month.  Leave yourself a reminder to head over to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog to post YOUR creation and you could be the gift voucher winner at the Dies R Us Store!

This is where I usually wish you all a great week & say I will be back next week.  But next week, there will be a brand new Inspiration Team to inspire you all.  I have loved my time here & will miss it, but I will still be around & you can still visit me at my blog anytime.  I'll still be creating cards & using all the beautiful dies we all love so stop on over to see what I am up to!

Remember to always leave some time in your week to do something creative! It feeds your soul!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 184 - Easter Cards

Hi, again!

Are you busy making your Easter cards & getting ready for Easter?  Hard to believe it is only a little better than a week away!  So today's QKR Stampede challenge will be perfect for you as the theme this week is Easter Cards!  It's a perfect chance to share one of your beautiful cards for a chance to win some awesome digi stamps and have a lot of fun while you are doing it!

I chose Digi # 24132 Easter Artist for my card.  Couldn't resist that goofy rabbit! He looks like he is saying "Well, here is the egg I colored....do you like it?"   I know how he feels! ha ha  I feel that way with every card I finish.....

I may not get another post in before Easter, so if I don't, let me wish everyone a beautiful Easter! And while we are all decorating eggs & enjoying chocolate rabbits, don't forget the reason for the real joy of the celebration!

Happy Easter!

Flowers for your birthday!

Hello, friends!

It's Wednesday again, and time for my weekly post.  If you are like me, you love flowers & with the weather getting warmer each day, I am already thinking ahead to the days we will see flowers replacing the snow drifts! So to start the spring celebration, I decided a couple of birthday cards featuring the Tattered Lace Flower Cart was just what the doctor ordered!  I actually made three cards with this same die.  For these first 2 cards, I mounted the beautiful flower cart on a Spellbinders Floral Oval.  A Spellbinder Ribbon Tag for both and some flowers from the Sue Wilson Petite Peony Cluster for the floral card & I was done!  The Floral Oval is currently out of stock but you could easily use any of the dozens & dozens of beautiful oval dies you can find in the store!

Here is my favorite of the first two cards.  I really liked the clean lines of the black & white!

This was another version I created with some cute floral background paper.  This version is a bit more "girly" than the first and perfect for lots of my friends who are real flower lovers.
This is the third card I made.  Since I have been collecting dies, I have pretty much ignored the baskets & baskets of Martha Stewart punches I have collected over the years.  I pulled out one of the around the corner sets to make this pretty background for my last card.  I had forgotten how time-consuming it was to do these punches!  ha ha I am so used to laying down a die & sliding it through my machine that I forgot you have to line these up & punch & punch & punch!  Boy, have things gotten easier with dies!

Be sure you check out the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There is still time to enter the current challenge & win a gift voucher to the store!

See you again next week with something fun!  Until then, have a fabulous week!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 183 - Add a Sentiment

Hello, everyone!
Yes, it's time again for another challenge!  Today's challenge theme at QKR Stampede is "Add a Sentiment" and with all the great images & sentiments at the QKR store, I soon found just what I wanted! I chose digi # 16814 Fishing Boy & # 12401 Fishing Is.....for my card.

I thought this would be a great birthday card for the fishermen out there! Although I hope they are a little more adept at the sport than this guy seems to be!  lol

Head on over to the QKR Stampede Blog & post an entry of your own for a chance to win some fabulous digi stamps! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Enjoy your weekend!

When our memories become treasures.....

Hello, everyone!

Although I would much rather think of spring flowers this time of the year, sadly, we all have those times when we have to think of other things instead.   Nobody likes making a sympathy card, myself included.  But for those times I do need one, I try to make it just as beautiful as possible.  And I know that anyone receiving a handmade sympathy card knows that a lot of love went into it's creation.  I just got the Poppy Stamps Hampstead Corner the other day & I knew I wanted to use it on my card. I decided to cut 4 of them & use them to frame my sentiment.  I wanted the sentiment to be special too, so after I stamped it, I cut it out with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  This die is currently out of stock, but you could easily use any of dozens of beautiful dies in the store instead.  This is the front of my card.

And this is the inside.  I carried the beautiful corner to the inside as well.

I am SO in love with this Hampstead Corner die!  I can see it on so many other cards besides a sympathy card.  No matter how many beautiful stamps you have, you just can't create this degree of gorgeous unless you have a die! Be sure you head on over to the Dies R Us Store to check out the latest additions!

And don't forget that a new challenge just began yesterday on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  Play along & you could be the winner of a gift voucher to the store!  How awesome would that be!!

Until next week, have a wonderful week and be sure you spend at least one day creating something beautiful! It will do wonders for your attitude!

By the Sea....

Happy Monday!

Another couple of guy cards to share.  And don't laugh at the way I photographed them!  I am busy putting my cards into plastic sleeves for the craft show & had just finished these 2 shortly after I put all my photography stuff away.  Rather than dragging it all out again, I just plopped these cards down on my Purple Cow cutter & snapped a shot.  Not the best photos, but at least you get the idea.

When "my" ship comes in, I would get a much larger craft room so I could leave my light box up & ready all the time.  ha ha  In the meantime, I'm not holding my breath!  lol

Have a fantastic week! Spring is almost here, the days are staying light longer and the snow has melted from the yard! Life is good!

The dreaded "guy" cards....

Hi, again!

Today I am sharing some of my latest "guy" cards.  I am probably like most of you & avoid making them until I need one.  They just aren't my favorite cards to make, and never will be.  ha ha   Having said that, here is what I came up with. I had some old car stamps & decided all guys like old cars so I pulled them out. Added some gear dies to the 2nd one & mounted both on some of my favorite gingham paper.

I grabbed the Poppy Stamps Sylvan Frame for the bottom two & added a deer.  I'm not sure guys will fall over with joy over them, but I know they are definitely not something I would send to a woman! ha ha

I'll be back next week with something more.  Enjoy your weekend!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 182 - Add some Sparkle!

Happy Friday!

Are you still full of sparkle or completely wiped out after your week?  I'm hoping full of sparkle!  Which will help you fit right in with this week's QKR Stampede challenge theme..."Add Some Sparkle!"  For my card, I chose Digi# 24139 Dancing.

What could be cuter than an elephant in full "Glam" mode?  All glittered up, right down to her toenails!

Head off to the store to pick out your favorite image!

Those necessary sympathy cards......

Hello again!

Some more cards from my stash I have been working on.  I signed up for a craft show this month & have been scrambling to get as many cards as possible created.  Here are my latest sympathy cards. The first 2 cards are made with one of my new "favorite" dies, Poppy Stamps Sylvan Frame.  The first one I added Impression Obsession's Fancy Butterfly to, and the 2nd one I grabbed an old Martha Stewart punch for the butterfly accents.

For this last card, I grabbed Memory Box Elliana Border Frame.

It's always great to have some sympathy cards on hand & hope you don't have to have them.

See you tomorrow with a QKR Stampede post!

Happy Birthday to Ewe!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Are you in a celebration mood or has this been one of those weeks to just get through?  Well, if you haven't had a wonderful week, maybe these 3 crazy sheep will give you a smile!  Sometimes we just need to be silly for awhile & let our inner "child" shine through!  The minute I saw this Bugaboo digi stamp, I knew it was going into my cart.  I used Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two and Memory Box Curled Ribbons to complete my card.

Don't forget to visit our Dies R Us Challenge Blog too!  A new challenge just began on the first, so you have plenty of time to get your creative juices going & join in for a chance to win a gift voucher!

Surprise!

Hi, gals!

I hadn't planned to post today, but I had a small pile of cards that needed to be photographed so I decided to share one today.  This was my favorite of the bunch, probably because it is just such a fun & silly card.
I had originally made it with the intention of sharing it on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog, but as you may already know, they have put out a new design team call and my term will be up at the end of March.  Since I had already finished & scheduled my cards through the end of March, I will have more time to share my own cards now. Hence, the post today!

This image was from QKR Stampede.  The cute die at the bottom is a Joy Craft "Happy Border" and just screamed for buttons!

Have a happy, happy day!  Think of all the blessings you have & let your spirits soar just like these balloons!

Bunny in the flowers!

Hi, friends!

The hunt for the perfect Easter card continues!  If you are like me, you have a lot of bunny stamps, bunny dies, bunny paper....bunnies just seem to be the perfect answer to an Easter card.  This is one of my favorite digi stamps & one I use every year.  The stamp is from Angel's Landing.  I found the perfect die for it among my Joy Craft dies.  These dies are not stocked regularly but we offer them periodically so you will have to be sure you are signed up for all of our newsletters!  The die I used was Joy Craft Noor Lattice Rectangle 6002/0146.  If you don't want to wait for our next offering of this one, there are dozens & dozens of beautiful dies that would work just as well.

I loved this card so much I also did another in blues.

The wonderful thing about Dies R Us is that not only do they carry more dies than anyone else, they also have offerings of dies that they don't carry on a daily basis as well!  You have the best of both worlds!

Head on over to the store now & you will see exactly what I am talking about!

See you next week!  Happy Crafting!
