Hang in there!

Hi, everyone!
Hang in there! It's almost Friday!  For a "short" week, this has been a terribly long one.  Somehow you have to pay for the short weeks by trying to stuff 5 days of work into 4.  Or in my case, this week, into 3!  After only 31 years, my furnace and central air finally bit the big one & I had them replaced yesterday.  I suppose I should be thankful they lasted that long, but it is still a hassle getting everything replaced.  I'm glad they were able to do it before the temperatures hit 100 degrees this summer.  (If summer ever comes!) We are still in that rainy, stormy pattern with cool days & cooler nights.

So tonite I have a little "Hang in There" card to share.

I can't for the life of me, find the folder for this digi so unfortunately, I can't even give anyone credit.  I'll tell you on my next post, hopefully.  The image was done with Prismacolor brush markers & cut with some of my Spellbinders dies.

Enjoy your Friday! Catch you later!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope yours was enjoyable & the weather was good.  We had storms all night, but the cloudy, stormy skies cleared out this afternoon & it was a beautiful day.  Perfect for remembering what this day is for. Not just another "vacation", but a time to remember all those who sacrificed for us to be able to enjoy these moments.

I have a birthday card to share tonite.  Another card for a co-worker.  I hope she likes it!

I wanted something simple, but elegant.  I decided a pot of geraniums wasn't the most "elegant" of flowers, but they are one of my favorites so I chose them anyway.  The image is from Flourishes & was colored with my Prismacolor brush markers.  I used a Spellbinder die to cut it out & two others for the bottom border. I am so happy I bought that set of border dies!  I promise to stop using them so much as soon as the newness wears off! ha ha  Am I the only one who does that?  You get a new stamp or new die that you really, really love & you just use it on everything for awhile!  Ok, then it IS just me! lol

Have a great week! Catch you later.

An old fashioned Hello!

Hello!
I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend & wherever you are the weather is good as well.  We started out with a gloomy, cloudy day, but it ended up sunny & beautiful for a change!  Somehow the sun shining always makes you feel better doesn't it?

I have a really fun & simple card to share tonite.  I bought this cute little old fashioned phone stamp a couple of weeks ago & thought it would be a cute "hello" card.  It is a Hot Off The Press stamp & was only $1.29 which made it all the cuter! lol

I pulled out some of my favorite brick red paper from my stash. I used the new border dies from Spellbinders that I am so in love with for the bottom edge & another Spellbinder die to cut out the phone.   We spend so much time emailing each other that sending actual snail mail is a lost art anymore.  My sister still sends me mail the old fashioned way & I love it! It is usually filled with clippings from her newspaper that she thinks will interest me.  I love getting those letters because I know she loves me & is thinking about me so I think this card will find it's way to her to let her know the same thing.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Catch you later!

Dog Days!

Nope, it isn't the "dog days" of summer....not yet!  In fact, I had to put my heat back on this morning it was so chilly in the house!  The dog days here are for a birthday card I need for a co-worker who is a dog lover. Hopefully, she will like this card, even though it doesn't look anything like her real doggie!

The dog is from hugware & I added a fire hydrant from Snag Em Stamps.  The paw print is from an old Stampin Up set.  I added a rick rack border above the pretty scalloped border from a new Spellbinders die set.

Better get busy.  Somehow I ended up with a head cold today.  Go figure!  The minute a long weekend gets near, it always happens.

Have a great day! Catch you later.

Many Thanks!

Hi, all!
Well, we made it through another week!  And what a week it was!  Last Sunday the morning temperature was 31 and on Tuesday we hit 106. Thursday was a thunderstorm & hot weather. From the sound of the forecast, it will be stormy & hot for several days now.  So I guess we can be thankful life is never dull!

I have a thank you card to share tonite. One of the simpler cards I've made for awhile.  I got some new dies I wanted to try out so decided to let the dies be the focus instead of the image.

I used Spellbinder dies on this and the paper was from a Memory Keepers 6 x 6 pad that I love.

I had better get to cleaning up my stamp room so I'll check in again with you later.  Hopefully, with something actually stamped!

Have a great weekend!

Celebrate!

Hi, all!

Well, I did say I was working on a couple of graduation cards, so here is the first one.  This is for a young man so I resisted all the lacey details I usually gravitate towards.  You have no idea how hard that was! lol

The stamp is from Penny Black. Love their cats!   I used my score board from Martha Stewart to add some lines (which didn't photograph well) and colored him in pencils & gamsol.

I hope you had a wonderful day! We had storms tonite & are expecting more over night. I guess we can use the rain, but I will miss the sleep if they are loud!

Catch you later!

I'm melting!

Hi, again!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!  I drove to my daughters & had a wonderful day enjoying their company.   I'm still full from the wonderful brunch we went to.  It was 31 degrees when we left Sunday morning to drive down there.  The high today was 106 degrees!  I don't think even chocolate will help Mother Nature any longer.  She has just had a complete breakdown! You don't know whether to get the snow blower or the lawn mower out!

I can't believe it has been so long between posts, but it has been busy at work & I don't have the energy to do a lot when I finally get home. Besides being busy, I was also training someone new but she quit this morning because she didn't "enjoy" her job.  Guess it is better to do it early than wait until you invest more time & energy into someone, but it wasn't what I wanted to hear to start my morning.  So tonite, I'm sharing something I made a while back, but have never posted.

This is a stamp from Great Impressions that I have had a long time.  Couldn't resist the cat, of course. The lace was done with a Martha Stewart punch.  Nothing fancy.

Hopefully, I will be back tomorrow with something new to share.  I have to make a couple of graduation cards.

Stay cool!  Catch you later!

Umbrella weather

Happy Friday, everyone!

Do you have your umbrellas ready?  Sounds like we are in for a lot of rain the next few days.  We just can't seem to get dry, sunny days anymore.  So in keeping with the umbrella theme, I have a card to share.

This cute little bear was from one of my Hugware sets.  I colored him with pencils & matted him with some of my new Spellbinder dies. I think he came out pretty cute.  If you have to go out in the rain, you should look as cute as you can & with a polka dot umbrella, how much cuter could you get!

Have a great weekend!  Catch you later!

It's a joke, right?

Happy May Day!

I'm sure this will be one to remember as you trudge about delivering your May baskets in the snow & sleet! Yes, snow!  We have already gotten about an inch & a half & they are calling for another 2-4 inches overnight.  So, for the 3rd time this spring, I have gotten my snow blower back out & put it by the door where I can get it again.  Guess I will be pulling the snow boots back out as well if we get 4 inches more.

How about a nice cheerful birthday card to make us think of spring?

This is another image from Hugware.  As you can see, I had to play with my dies again. I used a combination of Spellbinder & Lifestyle dies and the butterflies are from an EK punch.

Well, I'm off to work on another card so I won't have to look out the window!  lol

Catch you all later!
