Meow!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.  It actually got to 86 degrees here yesterday!  And it is still 77 outside right now.  Amazing!  I am ignoring the rest of the week's forecast, however.  You know, the part about highs in the 40's.....rain changing to snow/wintery mix.....all THAT stuff!  Somebody needs to get Mother Nature some serious chocolate so she will get out of this winter funk she is in! lol

Tonite I have a birthday card to share.  It's for a fellow worker & cat lover.  Which makes her a terrific person in my book!

This is another drawing from my old Hugware.  And one of my favorites.  I cut it out with a new die from Spellbinders & mounted it on paper from Lily Bee Designs.

I hear some butter brickle ice cream calling my name....LOUDLY!  Catch you later!

Spring finally arrived!

Hi, all!

In spite of all of Mother Nature's jokes on us the past month, it looks like she may finally have decided to allow Spring to arrive after all.  It actually got to 70 degrees here today!  After snow/sleet/ice & winter on Monday, it was a blessed relief to see warm temperatures and SUN!  Yes, sun!  I think we will all have a more cheerful attitude now. I even put the snowblower away tonite (for the second time).

To celebrate Spring, I thought a card featuring tulips & a flower pot  might be in order.  This is from Hugware & I colored her with Prismacolor brush markers.  The paper is from Recollections & Graphic 45 & I used a new die that is already another favorite from Cherry Lynn designs for the ivy.

Off to work on something else.  Catch you later.

My Favorite

Hi,

It was a busy week.  I thought I would get back to posting sooner, but it didn't happen.  In any case, I have a card to share today that I think will be one of my favorites.  The beautiful image is from A Day For Daisies & I colored it with Prismacolor brush markers. I used 2 sets of Spellbinder dies, Radiant Rectangles & Resplendent Rectangles, for my mats.  I have always loved lace & the lacey feel of this card just appeals to me.

It is 59 degrees here now & cloudy.  The weather is going to take another turn for the worst tomorrow & we are supposed to get rain/sleet & snow again.   At this point, I think I'm not alone in saying we are tired of winter!

Have a great week!  I'll be back soon with something new.

A Quiet Prayer

Hi, everyone!

I thought a sweet image from A Day For Daisies would be a good one to share tonite.  With hands folded, she is deep in prayer.  A position many of us have been in, especially the past few days.  It's hard to watch the news or pick up a paper without seeing something else that makes you shake your head.  But I think we need to put them all in their proper perspective & say a prayer of thanks.  I don't know about you, but I have so many blessings, I could not begin to count them all.  Starting with family & friends.  So today, we are saying a prayer of thanks!

I used the French Lattice frame from Cheery Lynn,  a beautiful oval from Marianne Designs and the butterflies are from an EK punch.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow!  Count all your blessings!

No card today..

Hi, everyone!

I was planning on posting a card tonight, but instead, I think we could all take a few minutes to say some prayers for those who lost loved ones today or whose loved ones were injured in the bombings in Boston.  It breaks my heart.  I miss that time which seems so long ago when we felt safe EVERYWHERE!  How sad those days are gone forever.

It's snowing!

Hi,
Can you believe it?  I think we have skipped spring, summer & fall & gone directly back to winter. It's snowing now.  Yesterday was hail/sleet/freezing rain & heavy rain.  Mother Nature seems to be having an identity crisis!

Tonite I have a pretty digi from A Day for Daisies. I had to use another of the new dies I got from Cheery Lynn.  I loved it the minute I saw it. I cut her out with Spellbinders dies & mounted her on Recollections flowered paper.  I also used the same scroll on the inside.

Don't you love that scroll!  Here is the inside of the card.

Better get going.  I need some time to play Words with Friends with my daughter & son-in-law.  I think we are all addicted to it.  If you haven't tried it, you should.  It's just scrabble, but so much fun played on the Kindle.

Catch you later!

What just happened!

Hi, all!

I hope you are having a great weekend.  As for me, I'm not quite sure what kind of weekend I am having.  A weird one, that's for sure!  After spending a nice relaxing day, I stopped and picked up some groceries.  Nothing exciting, right?  I put the groceries away & gathered up my garbage to take outside while it was still daylight.  Still not exciting....I had just dropped my garbage bag into the trash bin & bent to pick up a piece of plastic wrap that had blown into my yard from the neighbors when I saw something large, black & feathered coming directly at my head. Before I had time to even react, it hit me squarely in the forehead!  After standing up, I began to look around for the bird, assuming it was either dead or at least stunned, but I didn't see it.  I can't believe it could still fly after hitting me that hard!  The only other explanation is that it fell into the open trash bin.  You can be sure I will look tomorrow!  Who gets hit in the head by a bird!!  Aren't they supposed to have great eye sight?

Enough of my crazy day.  On to the card I am sharing tonite.  The Easter Bunny (aka my daughter & son-in-law) treated me to a gift certificate as part of my Easter basket & of course, I had to order dies! They came yesterday & I made a card with one this afternoon.

The image is one from some old Hugware I've had for years. I colored it with Prismacolor brush markers & then added some squiggly lines to the watering can to make it resemble the old cans made of enamel ware.  The pretty corner lace pieces are from Joy Crafts.  The paper is from my stash.

I hope the rest of your weekend is enjoyable & that mine is back to "normal" again!  Catch you later!

Give thanks!

Hi,
I think today would be a good time to give thanks that the temperatures are finally moving up a little & it is starting to feel more like that spring the furry little rodent in Pennsylvania predicted would be here early.  I even got brave & put my snow blower in the back of the garage yesterday!  If we get that "wintery mix" again next week I may have to pull it back out, but I'm going with the "spring is here" theme.   To celebrate, I'm sharing a thank you card.

This was a simple card to make.  I started out with cute polka dot paper from Michaels & embossed some cardstock, cut it like ribbons & added it to the front. A simple sentiment, a piece of ribbon & it was done.

Have a great day tomorrow!  Catch you later.

Well, it's not a robin...

Hi,

Well, the poor little bird I'm posting tonite isn't the first robin of spring, that's for sure!  He looks too much like a sick canary!

This little digi is from Designed 2 Delight.  I colored him with Prismacolor brush markers & the paper was from my precious stash of gingham (which is rapidly dwindling).  Hopefully, he cheered the person he was sent to.
