Happy Retirement

Hi everyone,

Today I have a retirement card for one of the gals at work.  She is retiring on Friday to work part-time at another company.  There aren't a lot of "retirement" stamps out there, so I had to improvise. I used one of my favorite chair stamps from Printworks Collection to stamp the chair on that floral paper I got at Michaels. I printed the sentiment on cardstock, then used a Lifestyle nesting doily die to cut it out, leaving the sentiment at the bottom of the oval so I could put my chair in the center.

Since I knew it was going to be passed around for a day while everyone signed it, I left the flowers I was going to add to it off.  Sometimes they don't "travel" well. lol

Better get ready for bed.  It's been a long day.  Catch you later!

Up, Up & Away!

Up, up and away in your beautiful balloon! Isn't that a song from the past?  Or am I showing my age again? ha ha   Well, this birthday card is to replace the little pilot card I made earlier.  I was afraid it might be too juvenile for an adult so I'm going with this one instead.

The image was from Steampunk. I colored it with copics & added a sentiment from my computer. The embellishments were from Spellbinder dies as was the die I used to mat the image.  The paper is from K & Co.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & are having a great week!  Catch you later!

Heads Up!

Hi everyone,

Isn't this the cutest image?  I need a birthday card for someone who flies & decided even though this isn't an "adult" flyer, it would work.  The image is from Mo Manning.  And  the cute clouds are from Memory Box & the other dies from Lifestyle Crafts.  I colored him with copics & added a little plane from Hugware.

I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful three day weekend! We just can't have enough of those can we?

Catch you later!

Relax

Hi all,
It has been a busy week.  I thought I would get a lot more done this week, but we are super busy at work right now which leaves me no time or too tired to work on anything.  I also had a family birthday card to do last nite so that took up the one nite I had time. Today's card is a birthday card for one of the guys at work. Nothing exciting or special, just basic happy birthday.  The image is from Mo Manning & it was colored with copics.
I hope you all have a great Friday & a spectacular weekend! Enjoy the extra day! Catch you all later.

Are you cured yet?

Today's post is a quick one.  I hadn't really intended to make a card tonite as I worked late & was tired. You know how that goes...But one of the guys at work has been out with infection in his knee & everyone wanted a get well card for him. I decided I had better get it done today so we can get it in the snail mail & he would get it before he returns to work. This is an old Stampin Up set I've had for a long time & still love. I colored it with copics & used a Spellbinder die for the matting.

I didn't put a lot of embellishments on it, just kept it plain & simple. Guys don't go for the cutesy cards the way we do. lol  Hopefully, he will just be glad we remembered him.

Have a great day tomorrow.  Catch you later.

Is it just me?

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was great too.  A couple of weeks ago, I won a Cricut Gypsy at my favorite stamp/scrapbooking store, A Walk Down Memory Lane. The day started out really cloudy & with chances of storms, but we dodged the bullet & the storms didn't arrive until last night when my power actually went out twice. A wild night. The day was a bit strange as well. I stopped to pick up coffee & treats for Gail & I  for the ride up & they didn't put the lid on my cup. Naturally, I ended up spilling it all over my hand. Later when we stopped for lunch at Chili's, the girl bringing our lunches dropped mine upside down on the floor.  I wonder if someone is trying to tell me I need to eat less? ha ha  Anyway, I needed a thank you for the Gypsy & decided to use this wonderful Mo Manning image again.  It's been such a busy weekend, I haven't had time to do anything else so bear with me.  Next time will be a new image.
The flowers were made with a Cheery Lynn Miniature Rose die & the leaves were a Marianne Designs die. I colored her in copics & the paper is from Michael's dollar bin.

Have a great week! Catch you all later.

Boy, have we changed over the years!

I know it's a bit early for Father's Day, but when I saw this Mo Manning image, I knew immediately it would be my card for Dad.  I think all little girls adore their dads & this image just brought a smile to my face. To go with the outside sentiment "Boy have we changed over the years!" I made  the inside sentiment  "But one thing has never changed. I still love you. Happy Father's Day!"

The paper is from Recollections & I used Spellbinder dies for the matting. I popped up the outside sentiment with pop dots &  I colored it with copics.  I hope he likes it as much as I think he will.

Catch you later.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!  I hope you are all having a wonderful day & someone is spoiling you the way you deserve.  As the first Mother's Day without my own mom, I've been reflecting on how much we all owe to them.  They are the ones who teach us most of life's lessons & point us in the right direction. And shower us with love. And that's a pretty great job. We all stive to be even half the woman our own mothers were.  I watch my own daughter with amazement at what an awesome mom (and person) she has become.  She has outdone me in every catagory. She makes me just burst with pride.

Today's card is one that I made with one of the five new dies she sent me yesterday. They weren't part of my Mother's Day present (which was awesome with a capital A), but just a "Saturday" present. When she first got married, I used to buy them little things they needed & I just called them "Saturday" presents.  We still call little "I love you" gifts "Saturday" presents.

The image is from Hugware and the die behind it is a Spellbinders. The paper is from Authentique & I colored it in copics.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

What's Your Sign?

In this case, your sign is a Happy Birthday greeting to a fellow worker who is turning 40. I remember when I thought 40 was SO old! ha ha  I wanted something cute & upbeat for her & I hope she likes this Mo Manning cutie. I colored her with copics & then cut her out using a Spellbinders die. The paper is from the dollar bin at Michaels. I loved it so much I went back & got 4 more packs!

I hope you all have a great weekend & are able to enjoy this wonderful weather.  One of these days it will be hot & sticky so we had better enjoy the mild temps now!

Catch you later.

A "Tweet" Thank You

Hi everyone,

I had planned to clean house tonite & do some chores that didn't get done this weekend. Well, unfortunately, I came upstairs to check my e-mail, saw one of the new dies I got & hadn't tried yet & you can guess the rest of this sad story!  The card I ended up with was a quick & simple thank you.
I used the WPlus9 Design Studio die for this little cutie.

Sometimes it's kind of fun to create a card using just dies.

Have a great Wednesday! Hump day, YEAAAAA!!!

Catch you later!

Blossoms & a butterfly

Happy Monday!  I hope you have all had a great start to your week. I thought I would start the week with something a little different than my usual kids or critters cards.  I don't do a lot of florals anymore. I used to do them a lot.  I don't know about you, but I find myself going thru phases. Everything is critters, everthing is kids, everything is blue, everything is covered in glitter.....you get the idea. It's time to switch it up a little and  try some new things every once in awhile.

I bought this Stampendous stamp Saturday with a totally different idea in mind for the card I would make. Once I got it colored with my copics, it kind of took me in a new direction. I hope you like it.

The black doily is from Heartfelt Creations. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and the cute little flourish at the bottom is from Die-namics. In keeping with trying new things, I'm going to enter this in two challenges:  I Brake for Challenges (I Brake For Florals) and Challenge #10Blossoms & Butterflies from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.

Have a great Tuesday!  Catch you later!

Peek thru my window!

Hi everyone,

I have a new window card to share today. Gail & I made a trip to Rock Valley to the wonderful "Walk Down Memory Lane" scrapbook & stamp store.  One of my favorite places!  I couldn't resist the window die from Poppystamps, inc. and ended up getting it along with the shutter die & window box yesterday. Two other dies I got with different intentions in mind ended up being perfect to go with the window! The label die above the window is from Die-namics.  Also the darling little flourish die. I used an image from Hugware for the view inside the window & finished it with flowers from my stash.

I'm wishing I had purchased the smaller of the windows instead of the larger as you have to make a pretty good sized card (6 x 6) to fit it all on if you add the shutters. The shutters are gorgeous, but don't photo well.  You will have to take my word for it!   Maybe next time I will get the small window! ha ha

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & will have a great week to come.  I'll catch you all later with more of my fun purchases from yesterday.

Let the dancing begin!

Hi everyone,
It's Wednesday already! Tonite I have a cute image from Squigglefly to share.  This little gal seems to have found the perfect dancing partner to join her in a sassy dance. He may be a little on the short side, but I'm sure he won't mind if she leads!

Orange is not usually a color I use much, but there was a challenge at Splitcoast asking you to use pumpkin, blue & green so I gave it a try. She is colored with copics & the paper is from Recollections.

We are supposed to have severe storms tonite after 10.  I hope they are only rain showers & not the booming, rattle the house variety.

Have a great day tomorrow!  Catch you later.

A day to remember

Hi everyone,

I have a sympathy card to share today.  I lost a dear friend Thursday and she was laid to rest this morning.  She left us much too soon by our plan, but I know God had something better for her in His plan.

The paper is from Recollections. The stamp is an old one & the name is rubbed off the side, but I think it says Great Impressions.  I love the frilly look of this tree. The mat is from Heartfelt Creations & the corner flowers from an old corner punch which I think is EK Success.

Catch you later.
