Summer Flowers

Don't you love summer because of the beautiful flowers that are everywhere? For me, that is the best part. And geraniums are among my favorites. In fact, my window boxes are full of them and so is the planter by the front door. I love that bright touch of red/orange.  This gorgeous drawing was a free digi from Alexandra's Art & Papercraft.  Her drawings are beautiful & she generously shares them with everyone! Be sure to check out her blog as she does amazing cards as well!

I colored this with Prismacolor markers. The paper is from Lilybee Designs and the mats are cut with a Lifestyle Nesting Doily Rectangle. The ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you are all having a great weekend & staying cool!  Catch you later.

Rodents love birthdays too!

Well, I'm not sure if this is a mouse or a rat.  I don't think it matters when it is wearing a dress & a party hat, do you?  This is an old Stampin Up set I've had for many years.  I rarely use any of these, but needed another birthday card for work.  It is colored in copics & I added some Stickles to the cupcake. A few flowers from Michael's wedding favors & presto, you have a birthday card.  Nothing fancy, but it will do.

The paper is from Authentique.  They have some great paper pads. And you know how I love paper!

It's beastly hot here today.  Only 99 at the airport, I think they said, but downtown was 102.  My car was showing 104 when I left work.  It's not a day to be outside for any length of time. Bless whoever it was that invented the first air conditioner!

Stay cool! Catch you later.

Where's the parade?

Ok, I'm ready for a parade today.  Something fun & happy!  So tonite I have not just one July 4th card to share, but four of them!  Yes, I know.  Overkill.  ha ha  I colored up 4 of these adorable Mo Manning images & then had a lot of fun creating four totally different cards with them. Each was colored with copics. Here is the first, and my favorite.

I used the Poppy dies for the window & shutters and added some patriotic banners made with a Fiskers banner punch.  The paper was from Creative Imaginations gingham pack. (LOVE gingham!)

Number 2 is my second favorite. She was made with the same paper along with some paper from the Paper Studio. The delicate frame is from Heartfelt Creations.

Number 3 is made with a border die from Marianne Designs and Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles dies.  I used brick red cardstock for the background paper on this one.

And finally, the last one is made with the Poppy door & window box (turned upside down to create a stoop, as well as the star border die from Marianne Designs.

As you can see, they are all different, and I had a lot of fun making them. They were a good diversion for a stressful weekend, which has already included a trip to the ER yesterday with Dad.  He is better today, but still having some issues.  And making cards has always been a real stress reliever for me.  I can't wait to hear which one of these you chose for your favorite!

Catch you later!

You ain't nothing but a hound dog!

Isn't this just the cutest dog you have seen in a long time?  Kind of reminds me of myself when the alarm goes off first thing in the morning!  This is a digi from Justinklined.  I colored it with copics & cut an oval for the rug under his chair. The paper is from my stash & the sentiment circle is from Stampin Up.  This will be another of the birthday cards I need for work.

For the inside sentiment, I chose "Don't worry about getting old.  Old will always be 10 years older than we are!"  Hopefully, he won't be offended by the "age" of the hound.  lol

Another day in the mid ninety's with dew points over 70.  Tonite we are supposed to have severe storms before a cool down tomorrow.

Hope you are enjoying your week.  I'll catch you later!

Another birthday...

Hi everyone,
I'm still working on the birthday card list.  At least I am getting closer to the end. lol  Today's card is made with a cute digi from The Paper shelter. I am entering it in the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge #137-Embossing.  I used the Joy Crafts Double Floral Oval  which not only cuts a beautiful oval frame, but also embosses flowers at the top & bottom of the oval.  I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to add more flowers to the edge of the card.  I lightly scuffed a turquoise ink pad over the embossed areas to give them more dimension. They may be hard to see with my photography.

The image was colored with copics & the paper is from K & Co.

I'm hoping this will be a birthday card my co-worker will enjoy.

More chances of storms tonight! YUK! It was already 93 around 2:30 this afternoon so if we do get any, I'm sure they will be strong.  I'll have poor Brady attached to my leg like glue.  He HATES storms.
Have a great week & try to stay cool!

Catch you all later.

Jump for Joy!

Happy Saturday!  That alone, is enough to make this gal jump for joy! And the fact that I'm feeling much better than last Saturday is another reason!

Today's card is one of 13 I have to make for work right now.  Yes, you read it right.  Thirteen birthdays in the next few weeks.  This birthday card is from a Penny Black stamp set & was colored with pencils & gamsol.  I mounted it with Spellbinder dies & made a flower with a C.C. Design Rose die. Super easy & fun to make.
The paper was from a K & Co super huge paper pack.  I LOVE those big ones with 360 pieces, don't you?  You can never have enough paper!!!! You almost need a 2-wheeler to get them home they are so heavy, but   it is definitely worth it.  ha ha

Better go dig up my umbrella!  It's pouring rain & I'm going to lunch with Gail in a few minutes.  Don't want to get soaked getting to the car.   I hope your weather is better wherever you are!

Catch you later!

Relax

What better way to relax than to lay back in a boat & wait for the fish to bite! I needed another guy card for work & I'm hoping the birthday boy likes fishing.  Lol  The fisherman is a digi from Justinklined. I pulled out the "relax" stamp from a Stampin up set & when I couldn't find my fishing basket, I had to draw one. I was afraid the copics might bleed into the black pen I used, but it worked beautifully. I may try this again.  I colored him with copics & shaded the sky with pencils & gamsol.

We may have storms tonite, but it looks like the majority of them will be just to our East. Hopefully!

Have a wonderful Friday! Catch you later.

Look what I picked...

Hi, everyone!

I hope you all had a great week.  Or at least one better than mine!  Mr. Cold & Stuffy, Running Nose came to stay at my house the first part of the week.  YUK!  You forget just how horrible you feel until you get one again.  You can't sleep at night because you nose is running & you can't breathe. Then you go to work dead tired & the cycle continues.  I just want it to be gone! ha ha

Today's card is another Mo Manning image.  I have to stay away from that website before I go broke. lol
I colored her with copics and added the rick rack trim from one of my dies that, unfortunately, I didn't keep the original wrapper on, so am not sure where it came from.  I use it a lot.  Especially on gingham cards. The paper is from a 6 x 6 paper pad from Authentique which I wish I had bought more of.  I adore the papers in it.

I hope you like her.  I debated with several layers of papers, but decided I liked her just plain & simple.

Back later with something new to share.  Catch you then!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Today's card is one I made for a gal at work who is turning 39 this month. And absolutely elated that it is not 40!  I hate to tell her how many of us would LOVE to be turning 39 again! ha ha  I did an inside sentiment on my computer that goes like this:" You are turning 39 today. Hip, Hip, Hooray! That means that "40" is still a year away!  Happy Birthday, Nancy!"   I'm hoping she gets a laugh out of it.

The image is Mo Manning and the paper is from Authentique & Lily Bee Design.  She is colored in copics.

Have a great day.  Catch you again later!

Let Freedom Ring!

Is this a record for me?  My first 4th of July card & it's only June 4th!  Before you get excited, it may be the only one I get done.  ha ha  This is another Mo Manning image. I colored her with copics & added some glitter to the little pinwheel.  The paper was from Paper Studio & I added a few star shaped brads.
Pretty simple.  But when the image is this cute, you don't need a lot to go with it.

Have a good week.  I'll be back later with something else to share.  Catch you later!

Moo!

Hi, everyone!
I hope you all had an enjoyable day today.  Mine was exceptionally good.  Not only was the weather perfect, but I got to meet a fellow stamper I've been talking to who is moving to the area.  She is a delight & I'm so excited that she will be living in the area soon.  I have always said the best part of having a stamp blog was meeting so many incredible new friends.

I did manage to get a little coloring in this afternoon & this is a birthday card I came up with for our plant manager who also farms.  His birthday isn't until next month, but when I saw this Mo Manning digi, I just had to throw it in my cart.  Since he does have cows, I'm hoping this card will be perfect for him.

I cut the shape for the card with a Lifestyle die.  The fence is a Sizzix die and the foliage is a Marianne Design die.  I colored him with copics.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!  Catch you later!
