Hang On!

Hang on & celebrate!  That could have been my motto for the whole week.  Hang on & celebrate when it is over!  Some weeks are just the pits & this was one of them.  So this digi from Sassy Cheryl's just seemed to be the perfect choice for a birthday card.

I colored her with copics & added some glitter. I kept the card simple as the gal it is for is not much for fussy cards.  I'm just happy I remembered her birthday was coming in time to get it in the mail! Our family doesn't have may spring time birthdays.

I'll be back tomorrow with something new to share. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  We had a record 90 degrees here today & tomorrow is supposed to be 93!  Unbelievable for this time of the year!  I have a feeling all the money we saved this winter with the mild weather will be spent cooling our homes during the heat this summer!

Catch you later!

Ignore the calendar!

Yes, I know the calendar says it is March, but when you need Halloween cards, you have to just ignore the date & think October.  These two cards were a lot of fun. The first is from Mo Manning.

He was colored with copics and the paper is from my stash.  The spider, too.  (Who has spiders in their "stash" you are probably saying) You would not believe what I have in my stash!!  lol

The second card I really loved until I added some dimensional stick on's from my endless stash of oddities. I would have taken them off, but they were firmly attached.

This cute little kitten is all ready for his big night. I added a web I cut from my Cricut. Would you believe I just spent 20 minutes looking for this stamp & can't find it! I think it was a Peachy Keen, but promise I will let you know if not.  If you could see my desk right now you would understand. I'm a crafter who gets everything but the kitchen sink out for each card. And on nights when I am tired, I don't put it all away.  Now you know my deepest secret!  I'm a really messy stamper! My house has to be neat but my stamp room can be messy.

Better get busy.  Lots to do before Castle comes on.  Can't miss that show!

Catch you all later!

A quick thank you

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful & relaxing weekend. They go so quickly, don't they?

I'm working on some other cards right now that I will share later, but I have a quick thank you card tonite. It was made with a digi from TLC Creations & I thought it would make a nice thank you card. I added some glitter to the copic colored roses and the scrollwork in black is actually a Martha Stewart heart punch. The butterfly is from Cheery Lynn designs.

Have a wonderful week ! Enjoy these warm temperatures! Catch you later.

A "Ducky" Day...

Hi everyone,

If ever there was a "ducky" day, then I think Friday should be a hands down winner for the title!  Friday means you have made it thru another week & can relax and enjoy the weekend.  So today I have a "ducky" card to share.  I bought this cute chair stamp (Printworks Collection) last week on sale & knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  I have some Rosie's Roadshow duck stamps which are quite tiny.  I haven't used them in a long time, but knew they would fit perfectly in my new chair. I made this into a birthday card with the inside sentiment "Hope your birthday is just "ducky!"

I stamped the chair on my background paper & shaded it with copics.  I popped the sitting duck up on pop dots & the corners are done with a Martha punch.  The doily is a Cheery Lynn oval die my daughter got me for Xmas & is one of my favorites.

Better get busy. Lots of cards still to make so I'll catch you all later.

Having one of those days?

Since it has been "one of those weeks" I decided to share this birthday card tonite.  It is a digi from Karen's Doodles.  He is colored with copics & matted with Spellbinder dies. I used a punch for the corners . Hopefully, this will be a great guy birthday card, even if the guy is not a golfer.  I think we can all laugh at the luck of this poor fellow & his obvious  lack of skill.

We are actually supposed to have some sunshine tomorrow! Hurray!! That should be the icing on the cake.  Friday AND sunshine!  Enjoy your day & I'll catch up with all of you later.

Got the sniffles?

Yes, I certainly do!  Which is why I decided to post this Mo Manning image tonite instead of the card I had originally planned.  I can identify with this pitiful little guy with the runny nose & rosey cheeks! The flu bug of Monday turned into a wonderful head cold & I feel just like this little tyke.

Except my "blankie" is brick red & fuzzy!  ha ha  I wonder if they will let me take it to work tomorrow?

I hope the rest of you are having a wonderful and healthy week! Catch you all later.

Wedding anyone?

Hi all,

I haven't done a wedding card for awhile & decided to get my embossing folders out the other day. I embossed the background first, then added a pendent cutout from Spellbinders under my cake image. A couple of flowers & a couple of butterflies from my favorite Cheery Lynn die & I was done.

The die cut under the cake doesn't photograph well, but looks much prettier in person.
I hope you are all having a great week in spite of the gloomy skies we are having. We really could use some actual rain instead of the hit & miss sprinkles we have been getting the past couple of days.
Catch you later!

Lady in Red

Remember that old song about the "Lady in Red" that was popular years ago?  Many years ago, now that I think of it. lol  I always thought it was a super song, probably because they sang it a lot on Days of Our Lives that year & I loved that show back then. Well, today's little lady is also in red.  She is a Mo Manning image done in pencils & gamsol. I used a Cheery Lynn die behind her, and added some corner punches from Martha Stewart as well as a beautiful butterfly from Marianne Designs.

I'm hoping she will be a birthday card that will make someone smile when they receive it.

It's another beautiful day here, but tomorrow is supposed to be rain & thunderstorms. We can really use the rain, but not the storms.  I hope you are all enjoying wonderful spring weather too!

At least it's green!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I should be posting a St. Patrick's Day card tonite, but at least my card is green!  That will have to do for today.  This is a Mo Manning image I thought would be the perfect guy birthday card. "Congratulations" seems a strange sentiment for a birthday card, but the inside says "On getting a little bit older & better than ever"  I colored him with copics and cut him out with a Spellbinder die.

I hope the guy who receives this will like it! It has tools, so that should be a start in the right direction!

We hit a record 85 degrees here today!  The normal is 48, so you can imagine how odd it feels to be this hot so early.  Not that anyone is complaining! ha ha

I'm off to work on more cards & will be back tomorrow, hopefully, with something wonderful.
Catch you then!

Another "Happy"

Hi all,

Tonite we have another "Happy" to post.  This one is a Happy Anniversary card. I made it with a Studio G stamp. The doily is from Cheery Lynn and a Spellbinder die was the perfect choice for my sentiment.

Better make this a short post tonite as I have a lot to do.  I'll catch you all later!

Happy, Happy!

Hi everyone,

Today I have 2 cards.  Happy Easter & Happy St. Patrick's Day,  hence the "Happy, Happy" subject line. I was too tired to post last night, so I'm making up for it today. The first card is an Easter card I made with a digi from Sassy Cheryl's.
I colored it with copics & added some of my favorite flowers made with a Magnolia die. The doily is from another favorite die by Cheery Lynn & the paper is from Recollections.

My St. Patrick's Day card is the only one I have made this year, believe it or not! I am so far behind on everything right now I barely had time for this one.  The stamps are from Studio G & Stampendous. I got the shamrock at Michaels.

Better get busy! Catch you later!

Super Kid!

Hi,
Today's card is another kid's birthday card. The image is from Mo Manning and he is colored in copics. I added a couple of stars, some glitter and a birthday banner greeting made with a Spellbinder die. All kids like to play super hero, so I'm hoping this card will be a hit.

It's supposed to be another glorious sunny day tomorrow so I'm hoping this means spring is just around the corner!  I hope you are all having a great week so far.  I'll catch you tomorrow!

Sweet Baby

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all remembered to set your clocks (and watches) ahead an hour!  If not, you are all going to be late for work tomorrow.

Today's card is a baby card.  I wanted something that would be suitable for either a new baby boy or a new baby girl.  I settled on an aqua background with this beautiful DP from Cloud 9 Designs. The beautiful doily behind my baby is from Cheery Lynn Desgins. I also added a double butterfly made with both the aqua paper on the bottom layer, & pure white for the top layer from another Cheery Lynn Designs die.  I'm entering this card in two challenges:

Craft Our Passions-100th Challenge Celebration
Cheery Lynn Designs- Challenge 18-Doilies

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend.  Catch you all tomorrow!

Fly Me Away..

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all having an amazing weekend. Our temps got into the 70's here today which is just awesome weather for Iowa and I for one have major spring fever!
As I promised yesterday, I was working on a birthday card for a boy & ended up throwing out all the ideas I had originally come up with as nothing seemed to work. In the end, I went with something simple.  I am going to enter this in the current Mo Manning challenge # 125-Try Something New
The "new" something I tried, was making clouds with a paper towel. I kept my little cloud on the light side so it wouldn't overpower the card, so I hope you can see it well.

He was colored with copics & I popped my little plane in the corner up with some tiny pop dots.
Have a wonderful Sunday & don't foget to set your clocks ahead tonite!  I know I am going to really miss that hour & the poor cat will go nuts trying to figure out when we are getting up for work for about a week! Oh, the price we pay for some extra sunshine!

Catch you later!

Reminders of spring..

Hi all,

I don't know about you, but I am REALLY glad to see this week come to an end.  A 12 hr day to finish the week on top of it! Yuk!  I'm ready to think of something more relaxing right now.  Like this chair full of spring flowers, for starters! This is a Penny Black stamp I got for $2 at a stamp sale.
I'm hoping this will be a great birthday card. The inside message says "May your day bloom with wonderful surprises! Happy Birthday" which should fit right in with the flowers.  I'm working on a child's birthday card now & hopefully can share it tomorrow.  Catch you then.

A guy card tonite

Well, it's Thursday already. Yeaaa!  One more day until the weekend. (For those of you who are counting)  I thought I would post a "guy" card tonite.  This is another Mo Manning image. The sentiment is one of Michael's dollar stamps from several years ago. It was colored in copics.

I'm hoping this card will be a great one for those teen boys out there who live with a remote in their hands.  No doubt, training for their future as adult men who also  live with a remote in hand. ha ha
Have a wonderful Friday everyone.  Catch you tomorrow with something else.

Angels

Hi,
Today I have another thank you card to share.  I really love this one. Probably because I love the idea of our friends being angels. This was a stamp from an old Stampin Up set I got at a garage sale one year. It just spoke to me.  lol   The paper is from a Recollections paper pad.

I kept everything in pinks to go with the beautiful background paper. I have a hard time passing up gorgeous paper....

Better get busy. It's already late & I've still got a lot to do.  Have a great day tomorrow!
Catch you then!

Scatter Kindness

I've always loved that sentiment! Wouldn't the world be a much nicer place if we all did it more? Sometimes it's just the tiniest thing tht means the most to someone else.  I have been hoarding this stamp from Flourishes waiting for the time I could sit down & really do it justice. I have been in love with it since I saw Dawn Burnworth's spectacular card using it.  Nobody could ever top her card! Having said that, I decided I couldn't wait until I had time to do it justice. Although I only had a short time to stamp last night, I wanted to start playing with it.  This is the result of my first "play time" with it. I thought it would be a wonderful thank you card.  I hope you agree.

I heat embossed the image to help it stand out.  The corner is a Marianne Design die.  I thought I would keep this one simple. One of these days I will have time to sit down & do it justice.

Better get busy. Have a great Wednesday!  Catch you all later.

Another thank you..

Well, it's Monday again, isn't it?  Another long day working when I would much rather have been home making cards. I need to win the lottery!

Today's card is a thank you I made with a Hero Arts stamp I bought several years ago.  I added a cute ribbon border with one of my Marianne Design dies that lets you weave ribbon thru it.

I thought about coloring the flower but decided to go with total black & white. I hope you like it.

Four more days until the weekend!  ha ha

Catch you later!

Ready, set, go!

Hi everyone,
Today I have a kid's birthday card to share.  I had this  image in my stash & hadn't colored him so he was perfect for the card I needed. I originally posted it as a Mo Manning a few minutes ago, but after a comment just received, I took another look & it is a Lili of the Valley stamp. Oops! I'm so used to posting Mo's that I didn't give it a second thought.  I don't have a banner die, so I cut some rectangles out with one of my smallest dies & cut them diagonally to make the little banners for the corner. I used Scrapper's floss for the string to hang them on.  He is colored in copics & the paper was from DCWV.

The wind is really blowing here today, but thankfully, nothing like the tornadoes that the poor folks down south have been enduring. My heart just goes out to every one of them. We should all be counting our blessings more often!

Enjoy the rest of the day.  I'm off to work on some more cards.  My daughter has an anniversary coming up &  I need to finish that card before I do anything else.

Have a great week!  Catch you later!

Put on your big girl panties!

Happy  Friday!

I have had this Mo Manning image for awhile, but haven't had the chance to color it yet.  I plan on using this for a birthday card, complete with a silly sentiment inside.  She was colored with copics. I added the beautiful lacey cutout with a die from Heartfelt Creations. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. I seldom enter challenges.  When I look at the amazing entries I get intimidated. There are some awesome talents out there in blogland.  I've decided it's time I bit the bullet & got out of my comfort zone so I have entered this in 2 challenges: Simon Says-Anything Goes and Challenge #124-Anything Goes with a Mo Image.  How's that for a big step!  Now for the card..

I hope you like her as well as I do.  Now I had better get busy & clean up the horrible mess I made tonite.  I am not a tidy crafter!  lol

Catch you later!

You're an angel..

Hi,

Another long day, so I will share a card I made this weekend.  You can never have too many thank you cards, can you?  This one is made with an old set from Stampin Up. I cut the doors of the armoire so that they open & inside you will find a set of angel wings. I colored it with pencils & the paper is from my stash.

How many times have you said "Thanks, you're an angel" to someone who has done something thoughtful for you?  There are a lot of really wonderful people out there who are really angels in disguise.

This is a close up of the angel wings hanging behind the doors.  Am I ever glad you can't see a close up behind MY closet doors!  ha ha  On that happy note, I'm off to put my feet up! Thank heavens tomorrow is Friday!  Catch you all later!
