Oh, Baby!

Hi,
I've decided I have a small theme going here. Yesterday's card was pretty simple--nothing fancy. The 2 baby cards I have today are pretty basic too. No flowers, buttons, ribbon, neon lights..... ha ha  These cards are made with a Whipper Snapper stamp I used a while back.  I needed a few baby cards & really loved this stamp so I pulled it out again.  I colored them with copics and the paper is from my stash.

Well, I had better get busy. My energy is fading fast.  Brady has already given up the fight & is fast asleep on the chair beside me.  Worn out from a day of napping, no doubt! I'm coming back as a cat in my next life! Eat, sleep, eat, sleep & get backrubs.  Sounds pretty good to me!

Celebrate

I love this card. It isn't flashy or covered in embellishments, but it just speaks to me. She is a digi from Sassy Cheryl's and is colored with copics.

We missed the ice this morning & have had rain all day. Sometime tonite it will turn over to snow/sleet (that "wintery mix"). Guess it could be worse.  They are getting that AND snow north of us. Enough babble about the weather.  I had better get going & work on more cards!

Catch you later.

Sympathy time

It's sympathy time.  I could use some!  Boo Hoo!  I worked till 8:15 tonite & am exhausted.  It's a good thing I have some cards from this weekend to share.  I'm way too tired to work on any tonite. This is a sympathy card I made from a dollar stamp in the bin at Michaels.  I stamped it in the center of an embossed piece I made with one of my embossing folders. I cut around it & then added the beautiful celtic heart from Cherry Lynn designs.  I hope whoever gets it will find it comforting.

Well, I'm off to look for something for dinner & to finish watching Castle. Tomorrow is supposed to be another white knuckle drive with freezing rain. How many days until spring??

I'm putting my order in for chocolate eggs!

Hi all,

I know it is awhile before the Easter Bunny comes, but I thought I would start working on a few cards in between my other cards. In case the Easter Bunny checks my blog, I want him to be happy that I am remembering him & move my order for chocolate eggs (with caramel centers) to the top of his list.

This little bunny with his full bag of goodies is a digi from Sassy Cheryl's. She has a lot of cute bunnies. The beautiful frame behind him is from Heartfelt Creations. Check out their dies.  They are amazing!
He was colored with copics & pencils and the paper is from my stash.

I hope you all had a relaxing and fun weekend. The sun is actually shining this afternoon which makes everything so much better!  I'm sure I will be checking in again tomorrow. Until then, have a great week!  Catch you all later!

It's the guy's turn today

Hi,
Since the last couple of posts have been more on the feminine side, I thought we should give the guys a turn today.  This is a birthday card I made last weekend.  I wanted something pretty generic but suitable primarily for the guys. This is a Mo Manning image I have used before, but it is just so darned cute that I'm sure I will go to it many times yet. He is colored with pencils & gamsol. When I color at Gail's house, I usually just take my pencils.  Carting all my markers is just too much work. I'm one of these anal people who has them stored by color & to take them all out of my holder & dump them in my bag would just take too much time re-sorting again.  Call me lazy!  lol  I do love coloring with pencils too, though, and they are way cheaper!

The paper was from a huge pad  by Recollections. I think this may be a Michael's brand name. They have some wonderful huge paper pads which you can get with your coupons & the papers are really assorted.  Hard to pass up for a paper addict, I can tell you!  Something about a big fat pad of paper that just calls to you like a siren song!  That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it!  Have a great Saturday.

Catch you all later! I'm off to stamp & get creative!!

TGIF

I thought a thank you card would be good to share today.  I know I am certainly thankful that it is Friday! It was another long, long day (literally) and the snow I cleaned away last nite came back overnite & again for a time this afternoon, so I had to shovel when I got home.  Did I ever mention how much I hate winter?  ha ha

This card is a Mo Manning digi and I colored it with copics & pencils and added some dimentional glaze to the watermelon to make it pop up. The border is made with one of my Martha Stewart punches. The paper was from my stash.

Well, I'm off to put my feet up & finish some Blue Bunny ice cream that's calling my name.  Really loudly, in fact! lol

Snow?

Yup! More snow today! YUK!!  It's the heavy, wet stuff too.  I can't wait for spring to come & today's card just has that feel of spring.  When else could you get the bike out & peddle around town?  This is a digi from Prairie Fairy.  I colored her with pencils & added a border with a cute punch from EK Success.

I took a second shot so you could see how I decorated the inside with the same border from my background paper.

I better get busy.  I worked late again tonite & then had my taxes done.  After that I had to snow blow the walks & driveway so I'm tired. It's a good thing tomorrow is Friday!

Have a great day.  I'll catch you all later.

An award

Tonight, I have a card to share as well as an award.  My stamping BFF Gail has chosen me as someone to pass the Liebster Blog Award to, which really touched me. She is always there to cheer me on when I have doubts about my cards.

I hadn't heard of the award before, but this is what she posted:

Liebster is a German word, meaning dearest or beloved, but it can also mean favourite."

The Liebster Blog Award is used to show appreciation of smaller blogs (under 200 followers) and to encourage readership and share appreciation and joy! As part of the tradition, this award is to be passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired me.

To accept the Award:
1. Link back to the person's blog who gave it to you and thank them :)
2. Post the award to your blog
3. Give the award to 5 bloggers (with fewer than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value
4. Leave a comment on the five blogs you chose to let them know.
When I first read the rules, & saw who Gail had chosen, I found myself in a pickle.  She had chosen some of the very people that I would have & I found myself with just one of my choices left. I hope I will be excused for not being able to share the award with 5 people, but hopefully, my choice will.
I am passing the award to Victoria at Furry Tale Cards & Crafts.

My card for today is a Mo Manning image I thought would make a cute birthday card. I colored her with pencils & gamsol & added the beautiful lace with a die from Die-namics.

Well, enough rambling for tonite.  Have a wonderful Thursday. The weekend is getter closer!

Something cheerful for a gloomy day!

What a gloomy day we are having!  It has been raining all day & is supposed to turn to snow tonite. Tomorrow's drive to work may be "interesting" to say the least!  After 2 days of posting "brown" cards, I think we are ready for something brighter & more cheery!  This is a birthday card I made with a digi from Sassy Cheryl's.  I colored it with pencils & gamsol & the DP is from The Paper Studio. I just loved the cheerfulness of this pattern! It just screams "summer" doesn't it?

  • Now if this happy little critter doesn't make you smile, then nothing will!   Have a great Tuesday!   Catch you all later!

I'm loving brown!

Hi everyone!
After posting a "brown" card yesterday, I'm back with another one.  I had intended to finish up one of the cards I started coloring yesterday afternoon, but got sidetracked.  Which happens to me more often than I should admit. Lol   I had this piece of brown Paper Studio paper left from the pear card I made the other day & it was just calling to me.  So I decided to go a little outside my normal comfort zone & do something without "cutesy" for a change.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations. The flower was made using a Spellbinder die. I rolled it into the flower & added a brown pearl to the center. The leaves were also a Spellbinder die that not only cuts, but embosses. I matted the sentiment with another Spellbinder die & popped it up with pop dots for more interest.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

I'm going to work on the other cards I started yesterday & see what I end up with.  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Catch you later!

Brown

Brown.  It's not a color I use a lot in making cards, but lately, I have really begun to love it. There is something so old fashioned about it. This post may take awhile.  Brady has decided he wants to play...That's what a nap will do for you! lol

Anyway, today's post is made with a beautiful stamp set from Flourishes. It has so many great stamps it was hard to chose which to start with, but this one was just such a serene scene. I stamped it in Artprint Brown ink from Memories & then heat embossed it with clear powder.  The paper was from The Paper Studio & the doily behind was made with a Cheery Lynne doily die.

I spent the afternoon coloring some digi's so I should be back tomorrow with something new to share. We have one more nice day coming our way before the next snow/rain/sleet event scheduled for tomorrow nite and into Monday.  I'd rather have snow any day than that lovely "wintery mix" Mother Nature likes to cook up for us so often this winter!  She needs a new recipe book!!!

Mid-week thanks!

Since today is the middle of the week, I think that is a good reason to give thanks, don't you? Only 2 more days till the weekend! Yeaaa!!  I haven't had a chance to work on anything the past couple of days, so I'm going to share some of the thank you cards I made last weekend.

All of these cards were made with the same stamp from Studio 112, but as you can see, they are all totally different by changing the dies I used to finish them. I get a lot of fun out of taking one stamp & trying to see how many different versions I can come up with.  It really tests your brain!

I thought I was too tired to work on cards tonite but I got the most amazing stamp set in the mail & that has given me a renewed energy!  I have to at least start a card with it! Hopefully, I will be able to share it in the next day or so.

Have a great week!  Catch you all later!

A Fruitful day..

Well, after posting apples yesterday, I thought today would be good for pears! I have had this set from Flourishes for a couple weeks, but have been so busy between making Valentines & going to the chiropractor I haven't had a chance to color it up.  It's a beautiful set.  I've always been a little intimidated by fruits & veggies (coloring, not eating) but this set may have cured me!  I colored it with pencils & gamsol. Spellbinders dies & some brown pearls & gingham finished it.

I suppose I should have posted a Valentine today!  Guess this will have to do.  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Catch you later.

An apple a day...

Ok, I know this picture is at a wierd angle.  I tried to remedy it by taking another shot & now I can't get it to download.  Grrr!  So, I'm stuck with the shot that looks like I was standing on my head while I took it. ha ha  It just goes with the rest of the day. That 1 or 2 inches of snow over nite that we were going to get turned into 5 1/2 inches by the time I left for work.  It was a fun drive!

In keeping with this strange day, I have to admit that I have no idea where I got this stamp! I colored it one day & stuck it in a folder intending to make it into a card & forgot all about it. I stumbled on it this weekend when I was looking for something else & decided to finish it.

I colored it with pencils & gamsol & the papers are from my stash.  If anyone knows where the stamp came from, let me know. I hope this doesn't mean I have too many stamps!  ha ha

Happy Birthday Friend!

Since it is still so cold outside, I decided to got with something definitely more "spring-like" today & came up with a birthday card.  The image is from American Art Stamp.  I colored it with copics & added the flower with a Spellbinder die I got for my birthday. I don't know how many flowers actually have black centers, but I'm taking artistic license & pretending they all  do!

I decided to enter this in a challenge: Celebrate the Occasion (challenge #49-birthday).  Since I have already had some wonderful luck today, maybe I will get lucky again!

The possible 4 inches of snow coming tonite & tomorrow should make for a fun start to the week! I hope your weather is better!

Friends

Brrr.....It's freezing outside!  I stayed in most of the day working on my birthday thank you cards. After I finished those, I needed a change of pace so I pulled out this little giraffe stamp from Magenta.  I've had it so long, I don't even remember where I got it, which is unusual for me.  I thought it might make a good "guy" birthday card.  I can make female cards all day with no problem, but those darned guy cards are another story! After you have done cars, golfing or fishing, I am pretty much stuck for ideas. lol
I colored it with pencils & gamsol and used some of my new dies for the layout.

I didn't get as much done today as I thought I would.  Halfway thru the afternoon, Brady decided he hadn't had his usual "kitty massage" so he jumped onto the middle of my table & sprawled out for about 30 minutes.  It's hard to ignore a 20 lbs cat who wants attention!

Catch you all later!  Better get back to something constructive!

It's Friday!

Hooray for Fridays!  I think there should be 5 of them in every week! lol   We are back to bitter cold temps & wind which makes it even more inviting to stay in the house & make cards this weekend.
This is a thank you card I made last week from a Hero Arts stamp I got in Omaha.  You can't see the glitter on the flowers, but you know how I love glitter.  I used some old markers & the "huffing" method I haven't used in ages & ages. The paper is from my stash & the background die is a Spellbinders.

After what has been a really hectic week, I plan to get some quality card making time in during the next two days. Hopefully, when I come back I will have something exciting to share. Stay warm!

Relax

This certainly looks appealing to me right now. I'd love to be reclining in a soft chair in pj's & fuzzy slippers!  Well, my slippers aren't fuzzy, unless you count the cat hair that probably collects on them! lol
It was a long day.  Thankfully, only one more to get through before the weekend.  This card is another made from an Art Impressions stamp. They seem to have a lot of really cute stamps right now. And as hard as it is to find good "guy" stamps, I grabbed this one the minute I saw it.

The minute I finished snapping this, my camera battery wend dead, so I guess it was good timing that I got it first. I colored it with copics & used a Lifestyle die for the matting. Nothing fancy, but a quick & easy guy card to have on hand.

Have a great Friday! Catch you all later!

Get some rest!

I thought a get well card might be good for today.  I've eaten so much food all day I could really use a stomach pump.  Today was my birthday & we had food day at work.  We had breakfast pizza to start the morning, followed by really yummy loose meats, chips, fruit & cheesecake.  Then I went out to eat with Dad & came home to eat the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten.  I can't even move I am so full! Why do we always do "food" for celebrations?

Today's card is another of the hilarious stamps I picked up a couple of weeks ago in Omaha. It's an Art Impressions stamp & I laughed when I saw it. If you have ever been in the hospital, this is exactly what happens. She is colored with copics & I used my new dies to finish her.

Well, I have a million things to do yet, so I'll catch you all later.

One of those days!

Ever have one of those days?  Those days when you should have stayed in bed & hidden from the day?
Well, let me tell you how mine started! I drove to work like any other normal day. Once there, I parked & tried to open my car door.  The wind was blowing so hard, I was having trouble even opening it, so I waited a minute until the wind appeared to have subsided a bit & tried again.  I managed to get the door open, only to have the wind blow it back on my head, knock my glasses to the ground & then blow them UNDER my car!  Yup! Under the car! It was too dark under the car to see them, even if I could have located them. Which I couldn't, not having glasses on!!!  I went inside & enlisted the help of the only other gal there & with the help of a flashlight, she was able to just reach them!  Hooray!!  When it first happened, I briefly considered backing up, hoping they were between the tires, but with my luck they would have been under one or the wind would have blown again & put them there.  Whew!  Long story!
On to today's card.  It is a Mo Manning image, colored with copics. I used a Lifestyle die for the matting & that Cheery Lynn lace die I'm in love with for the side trim.

Enough of my rambling on for today.  Hopefully, tomorrow will be much, much better! And on the bright side, my glasses came thru without a scratch!

Is it only Monday?

My calendar tells me it is only Monday.  Bummer!  I'm tired enough for it to be at least Thursday! lol
Another long day, so thankfully, I have one of the cards I made yesterday to share.  This is a Penny Black image.  I adore Penny Black!  I need some birthday cards for work & am hoping this will work for one of them. The beautiful lace trim is one of my new die cuts from Cheery Lynn & I have a feeling I will be using it a lot!  I colored it with copics & a few pencils.

I better make this short.  Castle is on tonite & I will NOT fall asleep & miss it like I did last week! I'm blaming it on my fuzzy throw.  Once I cover up with that & get all comfy on the couch, I'm as good as gone!  ha ha

I wish you "Re-leaf"

I love a good play on words & this image from Inky Antics provides the perfect one. "Not feeling good? I wish you re-leaf"....How cute is that to cheer someone up when they aren't feeling well! I colored him with copics & matted him on a beautiful oval doily I made with one of my new dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The paper is from my stash.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  And for those of you, like my daughter, who got about 14 inches of snow yesterday (the wet & heavy kind) I wish you "re-leaf" too!

I'm off to see what else I can make with all my new toys.  Catch you all later!

Birthday Bling..

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I certainly am.  We dodged the bullet again with the winter storm they were predicting.  From Thursday until last nite they were predicting we would get anywhere from 6-10 inches, 4.5-6 inches, 2 or less...the predictions were just all over the place! I looked out the window this morning expecting to see a white ground & got a real surprise!  No snow!!  YEAAAAA!!!
My daughter who lives further south is getting over 12 inches.  We just lucked out again.

Today's card is a birthday card I have been struggling over all day.  It's for a friend to give her BFF and not knowing the recipient at all, it's hard to know if this is something she would like. Hopefully, so. Since everyone has a different idea of what is beautiful, I always stress out over my choice before I give it to someone.  I used a stamp from Studio 112 which was part of the amazing birthday bag my daughter gave me.  Yes, I know it's a couple of days away, but she gave me permission to open it early & I'm so glad she did.  I've been in hog heaven all day playing with some amazing new toys.
The frame around this image is from Spellbinders as is the tag frame below it. I used the flourish dies from my favorite set of Marriane Designs to embellish the inside message. And I embossed all the backrground paper as well.

I don't usually show the insides of my cards, but liked the way this one turned out.

I thought a little flourish detail would finish off the poem my friend wrote to go inside it. Now I cross my fingers & hope they both like it!

I'll be working on more cards tonite so should be back tomorrow with who knows what kind of card! With all the new dies & stamps I have, it could be anything!  Until then, have a great weekend.

Catch you all later!
