Here Comes Peter Cottontail!

Yes, I know, we haven't celebrated St. Patrick's Day yet, but I was in the Easter mood today so I concentrated on bunny cards.  I made 4 this afternoon & here are two of them.  This card was made with an old Stampin Up set from 2000 "Bunny Buddies" and the paper is K & Co.

This little guy is a Stampendous stamp & took quite a long time to cut out all the layers, but I think he turned out kind of cute. I even practiced my zig zag stitching on it!

All this talk of Easter has me thinking of Cadbury caramel eggs!  Or Hershey's caramel eggs......See a pattern here? Chocolate AND caramel. What more could you ask for!

Another productive day..

I seem to work better when I know I have a deadline. I've given myself the next couple of days to finish a project and I've had a productive day.  A birthday card I really like & 4 sympathy cards so far today!
This birthday card could be for a favorite friend, a sister or other family member that means a lot to you. This is a Lili of the Valley stamp I got recently & really love. It was colored with copics & Prismacolor markers.

This was one of the 4 sympathy cards.  It's hard to see the embossing on it, but in person it came out very pretty.
I have the next two days off to work on cards & relax for a change.  It has been pretty hectic at work the past few weeks & I am really ready for a couple of days away from the mad pace we have been working at.

Let the Celebrations Continue!

I've had a productive day today! I actually finished four cards & am going to share two of them with you. This first birthday card is a Mo Manning image I fell in love with. Such a delicate & feminine image. I colored her with a combination of pencils & markers. And of course, you know me well & I had to use a Martha Stewart punch to finish it off. One of my birthday gifts was a set of Martha Stewart glitter glues which I am in love with! I did the trim on the tea cup & saucer with it.
This was another Mo Manning image & I have used it a lot. I just love her great enthusiam.  This gal knows how to celebrate a birthday!!  Even the dog is joining in!

Now that I have been "creative" all day, I have to tackle the mess my creativity has created! My poor desk looks like a tornado went thru, turned around & came back for a second shot at it!  I have decided that I LOVE the color, cut, glue, part of creating a card, but just really don't like the clean up my mess afterwards part.

Celebrate Today!

Celebrate today.  This would be a great motto to live by wouldn't it?  How often we save our celebrations for special days, when we really should be celebrating every day for the gift it is!

This is another Mo Manning image that just makes such a happy birthday card! Unfortunately, my camera angle wasn't what it should have been so the glitter on the frosting just doesn't show up well.  I made this card last nite but had to wait for the glitter to dry before I could take a picture of it. I had hoped to add another one tonite, but had to work too late.

Stay tuned for more tomorrow!

Birthday Girls!

Well, as promised, I have a couple more cards to share with you tonite.  I'm trying to replenish my stash of birthday cards and these two little gals seemed like a good place to start. This first card is "Sprout" by Mo Manning. LOVE her images! The added flower photographed more red than it is. I could never make my living as a photographer! And besides, I usually cut people's heads off.

This little gal is all dressed up in her finest (including her mom's shoes) and ready to celebrate. She is a digital stamp as well, but I can't remember whose right now.  Which means it is getting late & I am way too tired to keep stamping.

Thanks for the comments. It is always nice to sign on & find a comment.  I know I am guilty of checking out other stamp blogs without leaving a message & I need to do better at that.

Celebrations

I actually got home at a reasonable time last nite & managed to get 2 cards done.  The first is an anniversary card to celebrate love. This is a Mo Manning image I fell in love with the minute I saw it.  I colored it with Copics & Prismacolor markers & the paper is K & Co. I even did some sewing on the front & the inside!

This card is also a Mo Manning image. For anyone who has an older (or younger) sister, I'm sure you can relate! While you may have driven each other crazy growing up, if you are as lucky as I am, your sister is now your best friend.

Well, now I need to get busy & get some cards done!  Hopefully, I will have something to post tomorrow night too.

Today's Catch Word is "Simple"

Just a quick post tonite.  Inspired by my BFF who is going for simple, I decided to go with "simple" too. I also had 2 new die cuts I wanted to try out & this seemed to be the perfect way to do it. We all need thank you cards from time to time & this should do nicely.

I thought I would have more cards to post tonite, but I spent the day working on something for a sweet gal who needs some birthday cards as thank you's for some special people in her life.  The other card I made today goes to someone who reads this blog regularly so I can't post it or she won't be surprised.

It looks like we missed most of the snow & ice they originally forecast for us. Thank Heavens! I am ready for spring!!

Have a great week, everyone!  Catch you later!

Happy Birthday, Pat!

February is a busy birthday month.  Today's card is for a gal at work.  I hope she likes it.
The image is Lili of the Valley and the paper from K & Company. I found the flower at Hobby Lobby & pulled off the original yellow felt center & added a button. It seemed to work perfectly with the paper colors.

We actually got into the 50's today!  Yeaa for warmer weather!!  Every warm day gives me spring fever & makes me wish spring was here already.

Easter Hugs & Brady & the Hedgehog

After a really long & horrible week at work, I finally had a chance to relax this afternoon & made my first Easter card. (With much help from my cat Brady) I will show you the Easter card first & then we will move on to the cute pictures!
This was one of my new birthday stamps from Gail & I just had to make a card out of it today.  I believe it is from Impression Obssession. The paper is from K & Company & the heart punch from Martha Stewart.
In case you wonder why I only got one card done the entire afternoon, it was because I had a little furry helper!  He can't color, but he seems to want to "take lessons" & watch. I'm sure he is thinking he would have chosen something besides a rabbit to color. Maybe a cute little cat instead! Actually, he was hoping I would clear off the table so he could have it all to himself for a kitty rub down. Spoiled cat!!

I have to share some more pictures too. One of my birthday presents from my daughter was a stuffed hedgehog that she thought would be cute sitting on a shelf in my stamp room since I am such a fan of Penny Black stamps.  Hedgehogs in particular!  Brady immediately fell in love with it too. Here he is checking it out.

You have to sniff it from all sides.  Something written in the kitty code of conduct apparently. If it doesn't pass the sniff test, he won't play with it.  She must have passed the test. Minutes later he was rolling on her.
There is nothing like a cat to provide you with endless entertainment!  And endless love!

Welcome Adam!

I suppose half the country is excitedly awaiting the start of the super bowl.  Not being a big football fan, I'm opting for some card making & a movie. Today's card is for my cousin's new grandson, Adam. It was my 2nd attempt at sewing on a card, which is actually a lot of fun & doesn't take that much longer.

The buttons were from a package of goodies my sis sent me for my birthday.  I'm glad I opened the box early as they were the perfect color & size!
Well, I think a movie is calling me.

I'm Sew Excited!

Yes, you heard it right. I am "sew" excited!  Not only did I have a great day with my best buddy Gail but I got to eat my favorite fattening food at Chili's and make cards. As if that was not enough excitement for the day, I decided to go out of my comfort zone & try my hand at doing some sewing on my cards.  It is so easy to get into a rut & I found myself making the same basic card style way too many times.  So a trip to the store was in order to purchase a small sewing machine & try out my rusty sewing skills.  Obviously, I need to practice a bit more! ha ha  But it was a lot of fun so that is the main thing.

After doing Valentines for so long, I was ready for a change of pace & decided this Lily of the Valley stamp was just the change I needed. It was colored with copics & Prismacolor markers.  The paper is K & Company.

I also added a bit of sewing on this sympathy card which I made for someone at work, but with the flowered paper, it is hard to see it.  This also was K & Company paper.  I adore their papers! And, of course, a Martha Stewart punch.

I am hoping to get in some more practice tomorrow & continue playing with my new "toy" after I get the shoveling done.  Yes, it is snowing again!  I sure hope that furry rodent was right & winter is coming to an early end! Although to see his shadow this year, I think he would have had to travel to Hawaii to see the sun! We certainly haven't seen much of it in Iowa!

Catch you all later..

Let's vote!

I got this in an e-mail tonite & had to share.  I think this says it all!  Hopefully, you can read the sign which says "If you are tired of the cold and snow raise your hand!"

Some cards from my "stash"

Well, gals, as you may have noticed, I haven't posted in a week.  We are putting in long hours at work and from Friday night until last night, I was doing hospital duty with Mom.  We had a little emergency trip to the ER on Friday night & they admitted her, but she is doing better now. So, with all the hours & the lack of a weekend, I haven't been able to make any new cards.  I did pull out a couple of them from my "stash" to share.  I don't think I have posted either of them before.

This is a simple little birthday card I made with one of my favorite stamp sets from Paper Trey called Vintage Picnic. I stamped the basket on my background paper & colored the tulips with copic & Prismacolor markers.

This is another of my favorite stamps.  You know how I adore cats!  This little guy is a Judith stamp & I love to use him for belated birthday cards.

I'm hoping like crazy I will finally have time one night during the rest of the week to actually do a NEW card!

Stay safe driving on these icy roads. It looks like most of the country is having the same fun weather this week.
